🎉 115 YEARS OF SCOUTING IN ESPERANCE! ⚜️

In 2026, Esperance Scout Group is celebrating a very special milestone, 115 years of continuous Scouting in our community! 🥳

Established in 1911, we are incredibly proud to be one of the longest continuously running Scout Groups in Australia.

For 115 years, generations of young people have been learning new skills, making friends, exploring the outdoors, serving our community and creating memories that last a lifetime and we want to celebrate this incredible milestone with YOU - our community!

🎈 FREE COMMUNITY FUN DAY
Come along and enjoy a day of fun, adventure and activities while getting a taste of what Scouting is all about. There'll be plenty happening for the whole family, with opportunities to try some of the activities our Scouts get up to.

☕ 115th ANNIVERSARY MORNING TEA
We'd also love to welcome past Scout Members, Supporters & Community Leaders to join us for a special morning tea as we look back on 115 years of Scouting in Esperance and celebrate the people who have helped make our Group what it is today.

Keep an eye on our page for more details!

This morning we participated in our local ANZAC Day March & Service. It was great to see such a great turn out with all sections represented, as well as many youth also attending the Dawn Service.
Also well done to Alex & Brock who represented us so well by laying a wreath on behalf of Esperance Scout Group.

Welcome to Term 2!
Some of our members spent the school holidays having a fantastic time at OneCamp 2026 in Perth (a state scout camp with approximately 2000 attendees from across WA & Australia), but due to this our amazing volunteer leaders need a bit of time to recover before starting back for the term.

If you have sent us an enquiry about joining Scouts over the last couple of weeks, we see you and apologise that we are yet to respond! Now that we are back from camp, we promise to get back to you by the end of the week and we look forward to welcoming you to the group.

Albany Group Camp - Part 2

On Sunday we finished off our time at Albany’s Historic Whaling Station by having a look around there wildlife park, before heading back to the campsite for dinner.
On Monday morning it was time to pack up and head home, but not before a stop at Porongurup National Park to do the Granite Skywalk at Castle Rock. Despite many believing their legs may fall off along the way, they all made it and the view from the top was worth it.
Then it was time to head home with some very tired explorers.
What a great weekend!

Albany Group Camp - Part 1

Over the long weekend we headed over to Albany for a Group Camp at Scouts WA’s Gilcreek Adventure Centre!
This camp was a bit bigger than our normal unit camps and gave our youth who will be heading to Perth for OneCamp in a few weeks, the opportunity to practice using equipment, being further away from home & being ready on time for activities.
After arriving on Saturday, setting up and doing some activities around camp, it was time to head out for some bowling!
The next day was action-packed, with our day starting at the National ANZAC Centre, where each youth member was given a character card to follow the story of a real soldier who fought in WW1.
Next it was off to Albany Leisure & Aquatic Centre where we checked out the waterslide & some of our Scouts even made use of the time to work on the Aquatics stages.
Finally it was off to our last stop of the day, Albany’s Historic Whaling Station, where we learnt about the history of whaling in the Albany region.

This week we had a group night with all sections participating in Clean Up Australia Day!
Scouts from each age section got together in groups and headed out to clean up different parts of the foreshore from the hall all the way to the jetty & Adventureland park.
We had some very enthusiastic rubbish picker-uppers with some interesting finds including a chair!
