ABOUT US
Esperance Community Arts (ECA) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity with over 20 years of experience in community arts programming. We rely on grant funding, donations, collaborative partnerships and volunteer support to deliver community-led creative projects that prioritise participation, capacity building and community development. The Esperance Community Arts tea
m is committed to delivering inclusive and accessible arts projects and supporting strong networks between arts organisations, artists, and other community groups in the region. Our Arts Space is usually open to the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am - 1pm when we deliver free open studio sessions and informal volunteer-led workshops (including morning tea!). We also open on Sundays from 9am - 12pm when the Museum Village Markets are scheduled, other times as advertised and by appointment. We deliberately limit our regular opening hours to allow us the flexibility to deliver projects in a range of different venues around town. Members and partner organisations can also access to our Arts Space for small workshops, meetings, and informal exhibitions and we have a variety of equipment available for use at community events. Contact us by email - [email protected] - for more information or to make a booking. We offer mentoring and assistance with project planning, event promotion and funding applications to our members and to other community groups engaged in arts-related activities. Our programs support individuals and groups to work together, to access local resources, to expand social networks, and to express creativity and local identity. Esperance Community Arts programs are designed around the Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD) model, a widely recognised form of arts practice that focuses on projects that are designed, driven and implemented by the community, for the community with the goal of achieving positive change. musicians, visual artists, writers, film makers, photographers, dancers, actors)
