Somerset Assist Inc. held its AGM this evening, Our 2025 committee was re-elected. Unfortunately Brenda (Vice President) could only attend virtually, due to a lingering cough, but pictured Carole (Treasurer) Lyn (President ) and Catherine (Secretary) were able to share the evening and plans for the upcoming year with invited guests.

We are at the Esk Hospital Centenary Fair today. Why not come down and celebrate with us from 10am to 2pm. So great to have that facility in our back yard.

Somerset Assist is seeking a motivated person to join our coordination team based at Esk. Initially you will be employed as a casual and upon successful training and completion of a probationary period, progress to permanent part-time. The position is expected to commence mid-late September.

Once permanent, the hours will be Monday – Thursday, 7.5 hours per day. During the training/probationary period the successful applicant may need to be more flexible to take advantage of learning opportunities and staff availability.

The ideal person will have qualifications in a field relevant to aged care and/or had exposure to aged care support work or coordination and be willing to learn new systems. NOTE: Somerset Assist are an associate provide to Trilogy Care and work with Mable to source workers.

The following personal attributes are essential - team player, quick learner, adaptable, reliable, compassionate with excellent time management.

The new care coordinator uniforms look smart. Although our coordinators wear uniforms, our contractors don't, so the public doesn't need to know that our clients are receiving care, if they want that to keep that private.

Open 9am - 4pm each day.
Wellways (Carers Gateway) will also be available at the Esk location.

Due to expanding client numbers, Somerset Assist is seeking a motivated person to join our coordination team based at Esk. Initially you will be employed as a casual and upon successful training and completion of a probationary period, progress to permanent part-time.
The permanent position is a five day fortnight, working Thursday and Friday each week and every second Monday (32 hrs/fortnight).
During the training/probationary period the successful applicant may need to be more flexible to take advantage of learning opportunities.
The ideal person will have a Certificate III in a field relevant to aged care, have had some exposure to support work or coordination and be willing to learn new systems. Personal attributes must include being a team player, quick learner, adaptable, reliable and compassionate. Please submit a short expression of interest to [email protected], outlining your availability, skills and previous experience by Friday 27 February.

It was great to get staff, committee members and contractors together for a Christmas celebration. Brad from Mable was able to join us too. Unfortunately his colleague Linda was unable to attend.
