It was great to get staff, committee members and contractors together for a Christmas celebration. Brad from Mable was able to join us too. Unfortunately his colleague Linda was unable to attend.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas season and send everyone our best wishes for 2026.

What a great day at the Older Persons Collaborative Forum on Thursday. Lots of valuable information and research was shared. It was great to hear the amazing outcomes from the oral health project, which I have been following for a couple of years.

I especially enjoyed the networking opportunities. I met a lady who used to live in Moore and who had cared for her husband living with dementia for 10 years. She is currently on the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) advisory group and we had a long discussion about "Support at Home".

The final talk of the day was by a geriatrician from West Moreton Health who gave a very insightful talk about dementia and I got to share some ideas with officers from the Darling Downs West Moreton Primary Health Network (PHN) and in particular Kirsty who looks after dementia projects.

It was a long day, travelling from Esk, but well worth it. Congratulations to Dr Melissa Taylor and Deanne Geddes for putting together a worthwhile program and well organised day.
