Thanks to the generous support of the Muriel and Les Batten Foundation, Northern Health has purchased two Panda warmers and a Sonosite ST Ultrasound System, helping our clinical teams provide the best possible care to newborn babies and expectant mothers.🤰

Bruce Batten, Trustee of the Muriel and Les Batten Foundation, joined his daughters Emily and Elizabeth for a visit to Northern Health, where they met members of our Emergency Department team, Rebekah - Paediatric Emergency Physician, Christie - Manager Nursing Education Emergency Department, and Casey - ED Clinical Support Nurse.

The team demonstrated one of the new Panda warmers, which helps keep newborn babies warm, stable, and safe immediately after birth.👶

“When the Emergency Department found out about the new Panda Warmers, everyone was just over the moon. Having the latest equipment here makes a world of difference to our teams and patients. It’s hard to put into words what the support of the Muriel and Les Batten Foundation means," said Casey, ED Clinical Support Nurse, Northern Health.

The visit also included a trip to the Maternity Assessment Centre, where Simone, Midwifery Unit Manager - Birthing Suite and Maternity Assessment Centre, demonstrated the new Sonosite ST Ultrasound System.

Northern Health delivers more than 3,600 babies each year, and this new ultrasound system will support our clinical teams to monitor both mothers and babies throughout pregnancy.

We are incredibly grateful to the Muriel and Les Batten Foundation for their long-standing and generous support of Northern Health. Their generosity is making a real difference to our patients and the teams who care for them.

For a child in hospital, these little moments can mean a lot.đź’™

The community of St. George Indian Orthodox Church in Thomastown came together to raise funds and chose to give back to their local hospital, purchasing three colourful, interactive wall toys for our youngest patients at Northern Health. It is a thoughtful gift that will bring moments of joy to children and families during their time in hospital.

Thank you, St. George Indian Orthodox Church community, for thinking of local children and choosing to make a difference close to home. đź’ž

The true impact of giving isn't always immediate.

Sometimes, your gift helps a patient receive the care they need.
Sometimes it's a family finding comfort during a difficult time.
Sometimes it's research that changes lives years from now.

Every gift matters.
Every act of giving makes a difference.

Together, we’re planting the seeds of a healthier future for generations to come.🪴

When patients and families are facing some of life's most challenging moments, having a safe place to stay can make all the difference.đź’™

We are grateful to Quest Epping for their generous $5,000 in-kind accommodation donation, continuing a valued partnership with Northern Health Foundation since 2023. In that time, over 58 families have been given a comfortable room when they need it most. Their ongoing support enables our Social Work team to provide emergency accommodation for rural patients and visiting families, helping ease the burden of needing to be in hospital or having treatment.

Partnerships like this remind us that kindness extends far beyond the walls of our hospital, ensuring families can remain close to the care and people who matter most.đź’ž

On Saturday night, Melbourne’s north showed up - dressed up, united, and ready to make a difference. ✨

The Northern Health Foundation Gala Ball 2026, Where Art Meets Healing, was an unforgettable evening that brought together community, philanthropy, innovation and purpose under one roof at 1 Hotel Melbourne.

Together, we raised vital funds to support the da Vinci Surgical System at Northern Hospital Epping, helping bring world-class, minimally invasive surgical technology to a public health service, close to home for the communities we serve.
One of the most powerful moments of the evening came from Rex Stacey, cancer survivor, da Vinci patient and an inspiration to all in the room. As Rex so beautifully shared: “Don’t feel bad if you can’t donate, but feel great if you do.”
Thank you, Rex, for your courage, generosity and heartfelt reminder of why this work matters.

A sincere thank you to our Principal Partner - ISS Facility Services Australia and New Zealand for your incredible support and partnership in helping bring this vision to life.

To our exceptional entertainers - Vivid Strings, Bespoke Dancers, Unlimited and Brad Blaze, thank you for creating an atmosphere that was vibrant, immersive, and unforgettable.

And to our wonderful MC, Peter Helliar, thank you for leading the evening with warmth, wit and heart.

This event was a powerful reminder that where you live should never determine the quality of care you receive. That belief filled every corner of the ballroom.

Finally, congratulations to the Northern Health Foundation team and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring this extraordinary event to life. Your dedication, creativity, and commitment made the impossible feel effortless.

This is what community looks like when it comes together with purpose. đź’™

What a heartwarming visit we had in our Northern Health Foundation office yesterday! 🩵

We were so pleased to welcome back our youngest donor, Nicola, who came in once again to generously donate to help support sick children in our care.

Nicola’s beautiful journey started two years ago when she made the selfless decision that instead of receiving birthday gifts, she would ask for money to donate to children in hospital. Since then, she has continued to give each year, showing such incredible kindness and compassion at such a young age.

“It’s something she really wanted to do,” her mum Li shared.

Our team continues to be so inspired by Nicola’s generosity. It’s moments like these that truly remind us of the impact of giving. 🫶

Thank you to both Nicola her mother, Li. You continue to brighten our day! ✨
