On Saturday night, Melbourne’s north showed up - dressed up, united, and ready to make a difference. ✨

The Northern Health Foundation Gala Ball 2026, Where Art Meets Healing, was an unforgettable evening that brought together community, philanthropy, innovation and purpose under one roof at 1 Hotel Melbourne.

Together, we raised vital funds to support the da Vinci Surgical System at Northern Hospital Epping, helping bring world-class, minimally invasive surgical technology to a public health service, close to home for the communities we serve.
One of the most powerful moments of the evening came from Rex Stacey, cancer survivor, da Vinci patient and an inspiration to all in the room. As Rex so beautifully shared: “Don’t feel bad if you can’t donate, but feel great if you do.”
Thank you, Rex, for your courage, generosity and heartfelt reminder of why this work matters.

What a heartwarming visit we had in our Northern Health Foundation office yesterday! 🩵

We were so pleased to welcome back our youngest donor, Nicola, who came in once again to generously donate to help support sick children in our care.

Nicola’s beautiful journey started two years ago when she made the selfless decision that instead of receiving birthday gifts, she would ask for money to donate to children in hospital. Since then, she has continued to give each year, showing such incredible kindness and compassion at such a young age.

“It’s something she really wanted to do,” her mum Li shared.

Our team continues to be so inspired by Nicola’s generosity. It’s moments like these that truly remind us of the impact of giving. 🫶

Last week, the Mernda Community Building Activity Group helped raise funds through a local garage sale — with incredible support from a group of passionate young people.

Kim Berger, Community Engagement Officer at Northern Health Foundation, had the pleasure of visiting Basim Vasli, Coordinator of the Mernda Community Building Activity Group, to see the impact of their efforts firsthand.

Following their recent community meeting, the group chose to donate their funds to Mernda Community Hospital, supporting patient care and vital hospital programs for the local community.

To our incredible staff, volunteers, patients and community, thank you for your dedication and continued support.

At Northern Health, the Easter spirit was alive and well, with staff decorating wards to bring smiles to patients, a special visit from the Epping Pacific Easter Bunny, generous Easter egg donations from the Epping Football Netball Club, and a lovely family visiting the Paediatric Ward with arms full of Easter goodies. 💛🍫

What a wonderful day it was at the Kilmore Garden Party, held at Kilmore District Hospital on Sunday, 22 February! 🏡

The Kilmore Garden Party brought our community together in the most wonderful way, with families, friends, and supporters filling the gardens with colour, laughter, and connection. We are incredibly grateful to our Northern Health Foundation Patron, Bev Carman, for her generous support and for hosting the day. Her commitment to strengthening healthcare in our region continues to make a meaningful difference.

This year’s event wasn’t just a celebration, it was also a fundraising opportunity, with proceeds going directly back to Northern Health at Kilmore. Every ticket, donation, and contribution helps us continue providing high‑quality care close to home, and we’re so thankful to everyone who played a part.

One of the standout highlights was the Teddy Bear Hospital, which quickly became a favourite with the kids. From bandaging tiny paws to checking teddy heartbeats, our junior “doctors” took their roles very seriously, and their joy was contagious. It was a beautiful reminder of how events like this spark imagination, build community, and create memories for families. 🧸🌟

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Humpty Dumpty Patron and Channel 7 Better Homes and Gardens presenter, Johanna Griggs AM, to The Northern Hospital in Epping, a special visit made possible through the ongoing partnership between the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and Northern Health Foundation.

Through the generous support of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, 48 pieces of equipment valued at $216,475 have been delivered to The Northern Hospital. In 2025 alone, more than $37,000 in essential equipment has been provided to the Special Care Nursery. 🌟

Pina Di Donato, Executive Director, Public Affairs and Foundation says, “Visits like this remind us why partnerships matter. Through the generosity of donors and the steadfast support of organisations like the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, Northern Health Foundation can continue to advocate for and secure essential equipment to support our youngest patients and their families.”

A huge thank you to 3 Point Motors Mercedes-Benz for hosting an amazing Golf Day in support of Northern Health Foundation! ⛳️

It was fantastic to see so many guests come out to enjoy 18 holes of golf, friendly competition, and the excitement of a chance to win $50,000 towards a Mercedes with a hole-in-one, adding an extra layer of fun to the day!

We are deeply grateful for the generosity and commitment shown by 3 Point Motors, participants, and supporters alike. Thanks to your contributions, funds raised will go towards supporting the da Vinci Robotics Surgical System, helping to advance surgical care and improve outcomes for patients across Northern Health.

We were also honoured to have A/Professor Dennis Gyomber, Divisional Director of Surgery, Northern Health, join us and speak at the event, sharing his insights and inspiring words with everyone present. Northern Health Foundation sincerely thanks Melbourne Airport Community Giving Fund for their generous support to Northern Health Broadmeadows Hospital.

Their funding has enabled the purchase a recumbent bike for the Physiotherapy Gym at Broadmeadows Hospital, which is already having a positive impact on our patient's undertaking rehabilitation.

"Thanks to the generous support of Melbourne Airport Community Giving Fund, our new recumbent bike is now at Broadmeadows Hospital. For many patients, the recumbent bike offers a gentle and supportive form of exercise, allowing them to focus on recovery without unnecessary strain." Says Angela Chong, Physiotherapy Clinical Leader at Broadmeadows and Craigieburn Hospitals.

"Our patients and staff are incredibly grateful for this grant, which has enhanced the care we can provide and support better health outcomes within our community. We sincerely thank Melbourne Airport for investing in the wellbeing of our patients and helping us support recovery, one pedal at a time."

This makes a huge impact on the care Northern Health provides to patients, and it is all thanks to the support of our donors.
