Dear friends,

Due to life and other things, this is the end of Cothumos.

I want to thank everyone who has supported and been a part of my strange little project over the last few months. I’ve met so many great people and learnt so SO much!!!

Most of all, I feel truly grateful and humbled to have had some kind of positive impact on others (no matter how small) and to have had people believe in me so much. This Cothumos thing has definitely inspired me in a lot of ways and given me a lot of clarity about the types of things I’d like to do – but not like this, anymore.

I’ll leave the page up in case I ever decide to resurrect things in the future, but I’m logging out and shutting down.

For my lovely workshop peeps, we will have one last session tomorrow to finish up and say goodbye. ❤️
After that, here are some similar offerings in the area and online that you might be interested in to continue your practice:

- https://libraries.greaterdandenong.vic.gov.au/lad - Art Journalling at Dandenong Library as part of their ‘Libraries at Dusk’ program – 6.30pm on October 19 & 26

- https://www.facebook.com/artwellbeing.org - Monthly art workshops for mental & spiritual wellbeing at Miller’s Homestead in Boronia

- https://events.ccl.vic.gov.au/event?id=18876 – Scrapbooking, junk journals & paper crafting meetup at Endeavour Hills Library on the last Tuesday of every month

- https://ministries.ssjg.org.au/the-open-door/events-and-workshops - The Open Door in Dandenong holds regular workshops combining creativity with wellbeing & spirituality

- https://www.jennaburne.com/ - Christian art journalling (based in UK; lots of online resources for your own art practice at home)

- https://events.ccl.vic.gov.au/event?id=20240 – Local health & wellbeing classes using creative art making for self-care, meeting monthly over Zoom.

As always, I encourage you to keep exploring and expressing, whatever that looks like for you!

Love always,

Hillary

Title: On The Holy Pilgrimage – Mt Nelson
Medium: Oil on canvas
Size: 122 x 122 cm

From the artist:
“The pilgrimage is one of the basic modes of walking, walking in search of something tangible”. – Rebecca Solnit [Wunderlust: A History of Walking]

For as long as Hobart College has been situated on Mt Nelson there has been the inherited practice among young people of walking through the surrounding bushland; to kill time, to find the right log or stone to sit on, to cut class and smoke w**d, to pick the abundant psilocybin, to build stuff out of debris, speculate on how a burned-out car found itself in the middle of nowhere.

Central to all of these extra-curricular activities is the ‘Holy Pilgrimage’ trail that runs from the Hobart College Carpark to the Mt Nelson corner store.
