The third home we visited is the home of Waree (nickname 'Gam'). Waree is the third child who we added into the program last minute. She is 12 and is in Secondary 1. When we got to her home, we found out she has a little sister (Wasinee, nickname 'Goy', aged 8 and in Primary 3) who isn't in the program...
..she is now!

Waree and her Wasinee live with their single mum who also supports her father - the girls grandfather. Mum is a worker in a water factory.

This family is also particularly poor and we need these girls sponsored. Waree is $300/yr and Wasinee is $150/yr to support them to go to school...

Will you please help? ❤️

The second house we visited is the home of Thanaporn, her nickname is Taptim. She is in Primary 6 and is 11 years old. She lives with her Grandfather as her parents work away. She has a 3.6 average grade (very good) and her favourite class is maths! Me too! She wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She also needs sponsoring ❤️.

Yesterday's formalities were over and we went to visit some kids in their homes. Remember the three we added to the program last minute. Well, these kids are particularly poor. Here is one story...

The first young man's name is Rapeephat. They had just raced home in the pouring rain on a motorbike to meet us there. I was worried about my shoes in the puddles, and here he was soaked through with a shy smile on his face! Get some perspective, Tam!

His mother and father have divorced and his dad has disappeared. Mum is in jail and a long way away. Rapeephat has no contact with either of them, neither does the Grandmother. He lives with her and has done so since he was little - "since he was first born" we were told 😔. He said he will look after her when he is older ❤️. He likes fishing and when I asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he said his "brain is not very smart" 😔. I quickly told him the important part is to find what he loves to do! If his heart is involved then he will have the motivation to keep learning...

Rapeephat is in Primary 5 and is 11 years old. Him and his Grandmother are living in a rental. She is supporting her family as a labourer. And during our chat we found out he has a younger brother who is 7! 🥺. This young man is in Primary 1...
..in that moment I said yes again...

I told Mr Lim that I will provide another ฿3,000 to include Rapeephat's younger brother also! There was no way I was including one and not the other.

As we were saying our goodbyes, Rapeephat was encouraged to hug me. But he did so begrudgingly and I felt bad for him as he is so shy. We had an awkward laughing hug then I shook his hand and he high-fived me! Great ending to a heartbreaking conversation!

We now need two sponsors for Rapeephat and his little brother Nuttakit. I'll have information on the younger brother soon. Each child is $150 per year to support them to go to school...

Remember that 100% of your sponsorship goes to the child.

Please will you help? Or maybe you and a friend can share the combined sponsorships of these brothers...?

This is one of my favourite days of the year! And while I have lots to share about those three kids we included (see previous post), and while I wait for the photos from the photographer, enjoy these selfies! I sure loved taking them and watching the kids come out of their shells.... I don't speak Thai and they don't speak English, but we all speak "selfie" 😊

Today was banking day! 😊

'Blue Bank' - Withdrew the full ฿180,000 (Future Hope fundraising + Lions Club fundraising). Then we did the deposits into each of the kids accounts.

'Green Bank' - Deposits into each of the kids who have accounts here.

'Pink Bank' - last remaining deposits into each of the kids who have accounts here.

The ฿180,000 covers the scholarship for 37 kids. But yesterday I decided to include an additional three kids that are really struggling. That's what the extra ฿12,000 is for.

These three kids don't have sponsors yet, who would like to help?

Once all the deposits were done, I checked every single deposit slip against the bank book to confirm today's date with the correct deposit amount.

Everything done, now we're ready for tomorrow. ❤️

Today we checked all the children's paperwork to confirm what grade they are in for this school year. This determines how much money we deposit into their account.

It took some time but it's important to be thorough! Once that was done, Mr Lim completed each individual deposit slip ready for our trip to the banks tomorrow.

I'm off to Thailand today to see the AIDS orphans and give them their sponsorships to help them with this year of school... I'm so excited! I'll be boarding just after I post this! Brisbane to Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok to Udon Thani. I arrive 9pm tonight (midnight for my body clock 😱)

We'll be seeing them on Wed next week, and once I have all the updated info and photos sorted, I'll have more Child Profiles ready to give to new sponsors.

Will you be one of them?

I'll be available on Messenger, otherwise I'll see you on Facebook! Please comment and share if you feel comfortable. The more people who know about what you're doing, the more kids can be supported! Remember, Every Child Matters!

Love and hugs!

Tamara 🌏💙💚🖤
