A wonderful Sunday, with childrens' Sunday in the morning: the kids did an amazing job leading the service: praying, reading, playing music, performing a dance. And good fun afterwards with some games, including running down Minties Man! Thanks to the ladies who decorated the church so wonderfully too!
Then in the evening we had a youth-led service. They prepared dinner, led singing, prayed, read. It was wonderful to hear about the ESHS student-led Christian group.
Thanks to Nat and Emerald for supplying meat and onions for dinner!

The kids are prepping and practicing. Looking forward to Children's Sunday in a few weeks time!

We mourn with Janne and the Whitehead family over Chris' passing last week. Chris contributed greatly to St Luke's. He was project manager for the current hall (pictured at his commissioning for the task on 31 Dec 2000) and was amazing working with wood (some of his work pictured).
His funeral will be live-streamed at St Lukes, Thursday 30 Apr, 11am.

It was a big Easter weekend! Not just services, but an Easter passover-style dinner, a float in the Sunflower parade, and 6 water baptisms. So thankful for everyone who played a part. It's always so encouraging to see public commitments to follow Jesus!

Good Friday 9.30am 1hr service
Easter Sunday 9.30am and 5.30pm, 1hr 15mins, plus join us for a cuppa after.

Great to have Bishop Peter visit over the weekend. Our Saturday session on preaching was encouraging. Thanks to those who travelled to join us.
One clear message was that preaching is not our rant or hobby horse, but clearly explaining and applying God's words in the Bible to our live, for the building up of God's people. May it be so!

Our youth group ('Luke's Youth') restarted this week, but now on Thursday not Wednesday.
Great to see some new year 7s.
I didn't think to get a photo until later. We made some Lego creations as we looked at God as creator (Genesis 1). Appropriately, one guy made a garden!
