Happy Easter 🐰

Today we celebrate the incredible women who bring love, strength, and kindness into the world every single day.

International Women’s Day is more than a celebration — it is a moment to recognize the countless ways women shape our lives and our communities. From mothers and daughters to sisters, friends, teachers, and leaders, women carry a quiet strength that often goes unseen but never unnoticed.

Women nurture families, lift up communities, inspire change, and show compassion even during the hardest moments of life.

They are the ones who comfort us when we fall, encourage us when we doubt ourselves, and remind us that kindness and courage can exist side by side.

Across the world today, we honor the women who inspire us — the ones who love deeply, give selflessly, and continue to shine even through challenges.

To every beautiful, loving, amazing woman out there, today is a reminder that your strength, your kindness, and your presence make the world a brighter place.

Happy International Women’s Day. 💗

Happy International Women’s Day! ♀️✨

Since 1911, has been a global call to celebrate progress and demand change. Yet in 2026, millions of women and girls across Australia and the world are still denied that fair go.

Discriminatory laws, harmful practices, and gender-based violence remain widespread, while structural barriers block access to justice.

This year’s theme, , is a promise: every woman and girl, regardless of background or identity, should be safe, heard, and free to shape her own future.

These barriers are not inevitable. They are built and they can be dismantled.

Join us for International Women’s Day 2026 and NSW Women’s Week as we balance the scales for a gender-equal future. Together, let’s turn promises into progress 💪💜

Zonta International responds to U.S. withdrawal from multilateral institutions

Zonta International expresses its concern and disappointment in the decision by the Government of the United States to withdraw from, or disengage with, a number of key international organizations, conventions and treaties established under the auspices of the United Nations and the broader multilateral system.

Gender equality and inclusion is not optional. It is fundamental to justice, security and sustainable progress. We call on global leaders to uphold their international commitments and strengthen—rather than retreat from—the multilateral institutions that safeguard our shared future.

Six* women have been killed by male violence in Australia this year – and January isn’t even over.

Two of those deaths have occurred in Victoria in just the past week.

Today, we mourn the news that a 49-year-old woman was found dead at Eastern Beach in Geelong, with a man known to her arrested as part of an ongoing homicide investigation. Our thoughts are with those who knew and loved her.

These heartbreaking statistics are not isolated tragedies or inevitable acts of violence. They are the predictable outcome of systems that continue to under-prioritise prevention, safety and accountability. Each woman killed is a devastating reminder that family and gender-based violence is urgent, persistent and preventable.

Women are dying while specialist support services are stretched beyond their limit, housing options remain scarce and known risk factors go unaddressed.

All levels and sides of government must urgently commit to sustained investment in family violence prevention, early intervention and specialist support services and to treating violence against women as the significant and escalating crisis that it is.

Women’s lives depend on concrete action, not platitudes.

*There is still no complete and official list of every Australian woman and child murdered in acts of family and gender-based violence, but there are several key resources we use. At the time of publishing this post, both Destroy the Joint and Australian Femicide Watch have recorded 6 women killed in 2026.

However, it is important to remember that the true number of women and children killed is likely higher, as many deaths go unreported and unrecognised as family and gender-based violence.
