This week is Female Football Week 💜💜 Make sure you head down and support every female player, coach, manager, fan, and soccer mum ⚽️⚽️

A research conducted by ‘Women in Sport’ found that 74% of females in executive business roles, played sport growing up 🤩
The study claims “the stats are clear: girls who play sport become women who lead” 💪 💪 😮‍💨😮‍💨

So let’s really get around our female footballers this weekend 👏👏

This weekend, EDFC teams take to the field with those who have bravely served our country in our hearts, our minds and our actions.

As stated by the Australian War Museum

“Sport’s association with war is well documented, with its use as fitness training, to boost morale and to foster allegiances within units.

On 17 December 1915, amid the horror and tension of World War I, a cricket match was played between Australian soldiers at Gallipoli.”

“We had a game of cricket on Shell Green on Sunday,” a brigadier explained to his wife, “just to let them see we were quite unconcerned … and when shells whistled by we pretended to ﬁeld them.”

To honour our ANZACS and all those who have served, EDFC players will display true mateship on and off the field, bravery in the face of adversity and gratitude at the ability to play sport freely.

Sunday sees EDFC's Senior Men's and Ladies teams taking over fields 1 and 2 🤩🤩 Set up in the corner and cheer for our teams all day long.

🍟🍟 Or if you have some spare time on Sunday, jump in the canteen to help out whilst earning money off your fees.

👏👏 Thank you to all of our competitive juniors, their parents and of course our fantastic and dedicated volunteer coaches and managers.
