This page supports the successful campaign to SAVE 300 kangaroos and their joeys at NMIT Eden Park and surrounds. A permit was issued in October 2010 by the Department of Sustainability and Environment yet they could not provided any evidence of damage by kangaroos to NMIT enterprise to justify these killings. The Australian Society for Kangaroos, members of the public and local residents fought t

o have the permit withdrawn. The Whittlesea Council unanimously voted against the cull but were powerless to have the permit revoked. A round the clock on site vigil was mounted to protect the kangaroos. NMITs attempts at shooting were quickly thwarted by protesters. The vigil lasted for 7 months until the permit expired in October 2011.
