Having a BBQ with friends is a great way to celebrate the Grand Final 🏉
No matter if you are backing the Dockers or Lions to take the win, we all love a chance to get together and have a snag - while watching our team kick a bag!

This weekend ensure you BBQ safely by;
- Checking hoses and connections for leaks.
- Checking the age and condition of your gas cylinder.
- Removing rubbish, clutter and flammable items from nearby.
- Cleaning grease and fat build up before turning on.

Always watch while cooking and turn the BBQ and gas off when finished.
Take the time to clean off any grease and fat build up when your BBQ has cooled down, so you are ready to safely light it up again next time.

🚒 MELBOURNE FIREFIGHTER STAIR CLIMB 2026 🚒
Today, one of our members, Joe, joined with other emergency service members in taking on the mammoth Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb!
Joe climbed 28 floors wearing 25kg of firefighting gear, all while helping raise much needed funds and awareness for three very worthy causes, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, 000 Foundation and Lifeline.
And he did it in a pretty impressive time!
Well done, Joe! We’re incredibly proud of you and the effort you’ve put in to support these very worthy causes.

🏠 Station tours at 11am & 1pm
👨‍🚒 Are you aged 11–16?
We’re recruiting new Junior Firefighters! Come along and have a chat with one of our Junior Leaders and fill out an Expression of Interest. You could be the next generation of firefighters! 🔥
☕ Parents, we haven’t forgotten you! There’ll be a coffee van on-site to help with that much-needed caffeine fix!
🌭 And the best part… the brigade is supplying a FREE sausage and drink for everyone! 🙌

So bring the family, come say hello, climb through the trucks, have a go, and see what your local fire brigade is all about.

Today we celebrated a very special member of the Echuca Fire Brigade by naming our FCV in honour of Ron Hooper.

Ron has been a dedicated member of our brigade for nearly 70 years, holding various positions and contributing countless hours of service to our brigade and the Echuca community throughout that time.
While Ron may have retired and no longer jumps in the fire trucks, you can still find him around the station at almost any given time making sure things are getting done, and sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of members.

Ron, congratulations on this well-deserved honour. Thank you for nearly 70 years of dedication, commitment and service to the Echuca Fire Brigade. We are incredibly lucky to have you as part of our brigade family. 💚🤍🚒

Smoke alarms can only save your life when they’re correctly fitted and have a working battery.
Covering them with a shower cap or removing the battery is not a good idea.
