Centre Cook – Little Explorers Early Learning
We’re looking for a Centre Cook to join our Little Explorers team!
Little Explorers is a privately owned, family-run early learning service in Eaton, caring for children from 6 weeks to 5 years. We’re a service where relationships matter, children come first, and every member of our team plays an important role in creating a positive experience for the children in our care.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being in the kitchen, takes pride in preparing nutritious meals and understands the important role food plays in children’s health, wellbeing and development.
About the role
Our Centre Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for the children in our care, catering for a range of ages, dietary requirements and individual needs.
The role includes:
* Planning and preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks.
* Catering for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements.
* Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen.
* Managing food supplies and keeping track of stock.
* Following food safety and hygiene requirements.
* Working alongside our team to support children’s individual needs and mealtime experiences.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable managing the day-to-day running of a kitchen. You’ll take pride in your work, be able to work independently and understand the importance of providing quality meals for young children.
Experience in food preparation, a commercial kitchen or a childcare setting would be an advantage.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is happy to be part of a team and understands that their role contributes to the wellbeing of the children in our care.
The position
The position is based at our Eaton service, with hours of approximately 8:00 am–1:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
These hours can be flexible for the right candidate, so if the role interests you but you’re looking for something slightly different, we’d still love to hear from you.
