Activate Tree Planting We plants trees to help revegetate and repair degraded agricultural lands around the WA Wheatbelt region. We dance while we do it.

Activate Tree Planting host annual tree-planting music festivals run by a community of volunteers, uniting the love of our earth with the love of music and great fun. Government regulations during Australia's early colonial era saw the Wheatbelt region experience the clearing of critical bush land for farming practices. This mass destruction of the regions natural habitat has caused many serious e

nvironmental issues including salinity, erosion and loss of habitat. Activate Tree Planting hosts up to 3 tree planting events in these rural areas, planting tens of thousands of trees each winter while showcasing local musical talents and building strong community. These events are family friendly and encourage people to get back in touch with nature, form life long friendships, have a good dance, and most importantly help our planet by getting native trees in the ground. For twenty years we have been revegetating the Western Australian Wheatbelt with a team of hard working volunteers from diverse backgrounds, our mobile DJ truck, and the help of local farmers, grants and sponsorships. All fueled by nourishing organic wholefood from our volunteers in the kitchen. Activate Tree Planting gets back in touch with Mother Nature through the spirit of celebration and the physical planting of trees. We repair our environment whilst meeting new friends and experiencing one of the rawest, connected and meaningful West Australian Bush festivals.

A little background on our Esperance Activate journey, we have done an event in 2024 and 2025, mostly focused around us locals. This has given our crew time to grow and find our feet, play with the magic of the Activate approach. We're excited to welcome the WA Tree Family in 2026.

We've been consistently planting on a spectacular property, Riverlee, that sits in the Dalyup catchment west of Esperance. The rivers that run through this catchment meander across the landscape to the Lake Gore Wetland System, an internationally protected Ramsar wetland system due to being home to migratory birds visiting all the way from Siberia. It's beautiful, special and needs protecting. We're thankful for the continued support of Riverlees custodians to provide us the opportunity to host Activate events.

Every year we welcome so many beautiful new humans to our Tree Family. Activate Wagin 2026 was no different. After planting close to 40,000 seedlings and dancing them into the ground we've had a few days to settle back into our regular lives, filled with amazing energy and love from our weekend of celebrating Mother Nature and caring for country.

We are blessed with an extended family of supporters and sponsors who give so much to Activate, making sure we are sheltered, well fed, cared for and have a great time.

Our major partner for Activate Wagin was Trillion Trees Australia who provided 40,000 seedlings, most of the planting tools and helped us plan and run the tree planting.

๐Ÿฅ—โ˜•๏ธ๏ธEating healthy food is extremely important to us, and we had a bunch of amazing donations and support to ensure the food was healthy for us and our planet:
๐Ž๐ซ๐ ๐š๐ง๐ข๐œ ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž - Provided organic fruit, veggies and other groceries to feed our tree planters.
๐–๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐๐š๐ค๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ - Gave us delicious Sourdough Bread that we freeze and take to events.
๐“๐ก๐ž ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž - Stocked us up with dried food, rice, beans, grains and olive oil.
๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐Š๐š๐ณ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ - Lent us some essential cooking equipment - large paella pans, bain-marie pans and large cooking pots.
๐๐ข๐จ ๐๐ž๐š๐ง - Gave us that essential coffee supply that kick started the day and kept us motivated.

๐‚๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐จ๐ง ๐’๐ญ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐œ๐ก ๐“๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ - those awesome stretch tenets that kept us shaded and dry at the camp and planting sites.

Thanks to all the volunteers and participants who came out and helped plants 40,000 plants and trees in Wagin WA over the long weekend. We weathered some extreme weather with amazing positive vibes, open fires, live music, delicious home cooked meals and a positive community spirit. Thanks also to Trillion Trees for providing the trees and support, the landowners for having us and the traditional custodians for welcoming us. See at the next one.

We have a great setup at the campsite with shelters to keep everyone dry.

Planting, and dancing, in the rain is lots of FUN, so don't let a little water from the sky dampen your mood for this coming weekend in Wagin.

Any rain will be magic for the seedlings we are planting as well ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒฑ

Many of the shirts have been screen printed on op shop t-shirts, modelled by a couple of Activate legends in the first photo.

You will also be able to BYO shirt and have it printed at the Wagin and Nomans Lake events.

If you have been to an Activate event, there is a really good chance you have met the legend that is Liz Burrows. Full of energy, passion, enthusiasm and a bit of mischief. Always sharing a smile and a laugh๐Ÿ˜†

Liz has recently experienced some major life set-backs, including loss of home and transport through theft and fire.
