*UPDATE: Survey closing date extended until 22 June*
Last November, the State Government announced an independent Needs Analysis of the Neighbourhood House Network, recognising increasing demand on Houses and the need for long-term sustainability.
Neighbourhood Houses are a vital part of Tasmania's broader service system. Through their community development approach, they provide welcoming, trusted and accessible places where people can connect, find support, build skills and strengthen their communities.
Houses are increasingly responding to growing and complex needs, and many are stretched. This survey is part of the statewide Needs Analysis, and your input will help shape what’s needed to support communities into the future.
The survey is open to everyone - whether you have volunteered, worked, or accessed a Neighbourhood House, or work for an organisation that partners with Houses, all responses are vital. Even if you have never been to a Neighbourhood House but care about the future of Tasmanian communities, this survey is for you.
The survey closes on 22 June (previously 15 June). Please share with your networks, and thanks for your support!

It is done! Yay!

You can all sleep well at night now, knowing I have completed my 100th Devonport parkrun 😂.
Hopefully that means less of me in your newsfeed 😉 (note to page admins: STOP!!! It’s not about me)

Before I go, I’m going to take this moment to thank and acknowledge the power of community. We’re all parts of lots of communities; some connected, some overlapping and some in silos, but what this week has highlighted, is that being part of a community matters. Parkrun is just one example of community where people are all doing their own thing, but are sharing something together, and the support and positivity creates a culture that is self-sustaining. And a selfless plug for neighbourhood houses, because that’s what we do too. So thanks to my communities; my family, my work family, my house people, my parkrun people, and all the friends and strangers who have taken a moment to cheer me on.

🧡💚Community matters and it can’t be measured.

This is not a drill.

In about an hour, Lisa will complete her 100th parkrun.

That is 500 kilometres.

Five. Hundred.

For context, that is roughly the distance from East Devonport to “surely I should have stayed in bed” and back several times.

Rain, hail or shine, Lisa has kept showing up. For parkrun. For herself. For community. And in the same spirit she brings to East Devonport Neighbourhood House every day.

So if you are nearby this morning, come down and cheer her on.

If you cannot make it, leave her a message here.

If you see her afterwards, make an appropriately embarrassing fuss.

She will hate it.

That is how we will know it worked.

Go Lisa. Number 100. 500km. Absolute legend.

Tomorrow morning, Lisa completes her 100th parkrun.

That is a big deal.

Not because she will make it a big deal. She absolutely will not. Lisa is much more likely to deflect, change the subject, help someone else, or pretend she has suddenly remembered an urgent job involving a kettle.

But it is a big deal.

Because 100 parkruns means showing up when it is easy, and showing up when it is not.

It means 500 kilometres of commitment.

It means one person quietly backing herself, building a habit, and being part of something positive.

And honestly, that feels very Lisa.

So tomorrow morning, we would love the community to help us give her the fuss she would never ask for.

Cheer her on. Send her a message. Drop a comment below. Come along if you can.

Let’s make her 100th parkrun feel like what it is:
a celebration of a very humble, very stubborn, very loved part of the East Devonport community.

Sorry Lisa. We had permission. Sort of.

Some people make a lot of noise about what they do.

Lisa does not.

Which is unfortunate for her, because we are about to make some noise for her anyway.

This Saturday, Lisa will complete her 100th Devonport parkrun.

That means she has already turned up, rain, wind, cold mornings, tired legs, questionable weather decisions and all, for 495 kilometres so far.

On Saturday morning, she hits 500 kilometres.

For those who know Lisa through East Devonport Neighbourhood House, this probably will not surprise you. She just keeps showing up. For people. For community. For the House. And apparently, for 5km courses before most sensible people have finished their first coffee.

Lisa will absolutely hate this public attention.

So naturally, we will be doing it properly.

More to come.
