🌸 Volunteers Needed – Dahlia & Arts Festival 2026

The Dahlia & Arts Festival weekend is coming up and we’re looking for a few extra hands to help bring the event to life.

You could help with:
🎨 Mounting portraits for the Eaglebald Art Prize
🏃 Supporting the Schools Relay
🎭 Assisting during the Gala Parade
🌾 Installing and managing the Scarecrow Competition
🎤 Helping with Opening Night at Eaglehawk Commons

Many roles are only 1–2 hours, so it’s easy to get involved.

We’ll be hosting two volunteer sign-up sessions in Eaglehawk soon where you can choose a role that suits you.

We’re going on a Elf Hunt!! We’re gonna catch a big one!! 🎶

Next Friday the 28th we are having an Elf Hunt for the Eaglehawk Street Party event.

10 cheeky elves will be hiding along Eaglehawk High Street – can you find them all?

Santa’s elves have run off from the North Pole and are hiding in local shops and the Eaglehawk Library!

Search along High Street between November 28 and December 4 and see if you can spot them all. ✨

Hunt sheets will be available from the Eaglehawk library and some participating stores on the night 🔎

When you find an elf, write down where you found it. 🗺️

🎁 All completed entries will go into the draw for a special little prize,
to be announced at the Eaglehawk Christmas Carols! 🎁

Visit Eaglehawk on the 28th of November for some free community events & late night shopping! Explore what our historical part of Bendigo has to offer while enjoying live music. It will be a great opportunity to begin (or finish) your Christmas shopping; spend for your chance to win a beautiful hamper FULL of products & vouchers from participating traders.

Families are also invited to our FREE family fun event at the Canterbury Park Gardens in Eaglehawk from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

There will be lots of free activities for the kids, including The Zone chair-a-plane activity, jumping castle, henna painting, sporting activities, circus activities, face painting, live entertainment, sporting activities and art and craft.

If we shift away from the traditional 12:30 PM start, the day would look something like this:

9:00 AM: Art and Flower Shows Open

10:00 AM: Floats begin Marshalling

10:30–11:00 AM: School Relays

11:00 AM: Parade Starts (The new proposed time!)

12:00 PM: Parade Ends & Market/Festival of Friendship/Music in the park kicks off

It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of a treasured member of our committee and community, Peter Cox OAM. His contributions to Eaglehawk Festivals Inc. and to the wider Eaglehawk community cannot be overstated.

Peter had been a community man for many years before he took on the role of keeping the Dahlia and Arts Festival alive. He brought people together. Locals, business owners, and community groups with belief in the power of collective action.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Peter's family during this time. We are so thankful for the many years he gave to this community, and his legacy of kindness and dedication will not be forgotten.
