Thanks Mums 4 Refugees xx
The world of social media is a strange little beast.
One minute you are reaching thousands of kindred souls, mothers, organisers, teachers, nurses, aunties, neighbours, people who still believe every human being deserves safety and dignity.
The next minute, you are shadow-banned into the algorithmic basement because apparently we became too popular.
And yes, along the way, we have collected a few thousand angry keyboard warriors whose messages read less like political commentary and more like intrusive thoughts with Wi-Fi.
So here we are, reminding everyone who we are.
We are a bunch of mums.
We organise emergency aid for people pushed to the edge. We support families with school items, medication, food, domestic violence emergency support, and practical care when systems fail.
We believe human rights and dignity are not bound to visa status, gender roles, income, postcode, disability, race, religion, or usefulness to the economy.
We believe survivors, people living in poverty, people living with disability, and communities who know what they need. We believe care is political, safety belongs to everyone, kindness is not weakness, and accountability is part of love.
Our values are kindness and empathy. And let’s be clear: kindness does not mean allowing harm. We will block, report, document and, when needed, contact police about violent, racist, misogynistic or threatening behaviour.
This space is not for everyone and that is okay.
It is for people who want to learn, grow, organise, repair, protect, and imagine something better than cruelty dressed up as politics.
So please, stay with us. Click follow. Follow us on Instagram. Share the work. Help us reach each other again.
And if you are feeling hopeless or scared, please know this: you are not alone. Most people are kind, decent, funny, generous and compassionate. We just need to keep finding our way back to each other.
Happy weekend.
Be kind.
Be the hope someone else needs.
And tax the billionaires.
