GWS REGION SCOUT JAMBOORETTE 2026 – An Unforgettable Long Weekend of Adventure!
1st Dural Scout Group Takes First Prize at Regional Jamborette in the prestigious Gateway Competition.
Our 1st Dural Scout Unit recently returned from an action-packed Jamborette over the long weekend in June, joining hundreds of other Scouts in the Region. All youth members and leaders had a wonderful time spending the 3 nights and 4 days, tackling high-adventure bases and building lifelong friendships around the campfire.
Planned to challenge and inspire, the action-packed weekend saw our Scouts take on a wide variety of outdoor adventure challenges. They rotated through thrilling activity bases, including abseiling, a towering rock climbing wall, STEM activities and more. Beyond the physical challenges, Scouts also got to test their pioneering skills, participate in campfires, enjoyed themed entertainment shows and swapping stories under the stars.
Under the guidance of the leaders, the Scouts built a spectacular, custom-engineered Killer Whale structure to mount across their gateway entrance. The judges at the Jamborette were blown away by the creativity and structural integrity of the design, officially awarding 1st Dural the premier prize for the best gateway.
More than just fun and adventure, the weekend also allowed the Scouts to tick off important progression points in the Outdoor Adventure Skills framework of the Scout Program. They set up the campsite and camped together as a self-sufficient unit.
Scouting provides young people with fun and challenging opportunities to grow in character, leadership, friendships and outdoor skills.
New members are always welcome to join the adventure. Our Scout hall is on 414 Galston Rd. Galston.
