W**d Mapping - Fieldbook App
As Marri Reserve continues to recover post fire, w**ds are one of the most significant issues. The City of Busselton - Local Government continues to provide resources in our fight against w**d invasion. Having accurate and up to date data on which w**ds are taking hold, and where they are, is very valuable.
Nature Conservation Margaret River Region's Fieldbook App captures w**d data collected by volunteers, in a user-friendly format that is available to the City of Busselton, Shire of Augusta Margaret River, and other organisations. This data is collected and utilized across the Capes region, to help target resources where they’re most needed, in fighting the many w**ds that are impacting our local areas.
I'll post further details about how to download the app below. We will be holding a w**ding day in the reserve in the coming weeks, and will also go over how to use the app then. If you'd like to be involved, please get in touch.
Photo of Japanese Honeysuckle - a rampant and vigorous w**d that has been frustratingly taking hold in the southern part of Marri Reserve. We have mapped locations for this species, which will assist the City in targeting treatment post fire.
