The Arts Hub is a designated community space to showcase arts & crafts of the local area, a space to hold specialized workshops plus weekly classes -Mosaics on Mondays, Hub Club for kids,Textiles on Tuesdays & Mixed Media Art Group on Wednesday’s The Arts Hub had a total makeover over in 2016 to prepare it to be used in the community of Dunolly as a designated art space. The Hub is a designated space where the local Neighbourhood House can hold specialized arts & crafts workshops, events and community meetings, also the Hub can be used as a private exhibition space. There are Mosaic classes, arts based workshops, community art workshops. The Arts Hub loves to get involved in Community Art, recently our local artists were part of the successful Imagination Station, a mixed media showcase that will be positioned in regional Goldfields Shire towns for artists to exhibit in a public space, every Christmas we host the workshops and organize the initiative called Decorate Dunolly - which gathers community members together to make Christmas decorations for the main street of Dunolly, we then utilize the local SES to help hang the decorations. We hire the Hub out for exhibitions and hope to have many more events in the future. We have finalised & installed a community art project soon called Story Seats which is a Go Goldfields initiative with ceramicist Kerry Punten. We now have installed our own Imagination Station with a community weave to showcase the surrounding bush lands. 2020 saw the Hub closed for most of the year but still exhibiting local artists online via our FB page- we look forward to the year ahead & using technology to engage more community & make the Hub more inclusive and accessible.
