🎃 Well, our Halloween window display didn’t stay intact for long!

Today the Chucky jigsaw, one of the harlequin outfits, skeleton PJs and even teddy’s skeleton mask all found new homes!

Poor teddy. He’d only just started feeling safe behind that mask!

Wonder what will disappear next? Closed tomorrow Wednesday reopen on Thursday.

If you stopped to look at our window over the weekend, you might have noticed a few rather unusual characters!

We’re not making a big fuss about Halloween, but apparently a few of our residents had other ideas.

We’ve got some rather weird bears, a black cat, skeleton PJs, harlequin tops, bat headbands and a black dress giving off serious Wednesday Addams vibes. There’s even a Chucky jigsaw, just to make things a little more unsettling!

And the teddy on the swing? He’s taken to wearing a skeleton mask and a costume because he was feeling a little intimidated by the others. 😟

Halloween fan or not, there’s always something unusual turning up at the Dunolly Community Thrift Shop!

We tried to hold off on the “C” word… but the donations had other ideas.
🤶🎄🎅Christmas has started creeping into the Thrift Shop! 🎄🎁🌲

There’s tinsel, cards, plates, platters and so many baubles I spent half the time chasing them across the floor.

We’ve even got an Elf Surveillance Camera if a little festive blackmail helps with the kids. 👀

And the reindeer? He sings. Of course he does. 🦌

We’re closed tomorrow, Wednesday, but back open Thursday from 9am.

A little look 👀 at how our shop continues to grow.

Back in July, we shared the wonderful support we received from Community Bank Maldon & District which funded three heaters for our shop. A few months on, they’re still making a big difference, and their sign proudly sits alongside some other changes around the shop.

We now have a new shelf displaying some of the vintage, quirky and interesting finds that come through our doors, and our retro cubes have found a home on the wall for some of our smaller treasures.

You’ll also spot our Dunolly Daily box on the counter. We’re pleased to support another local initiative by being a collection point, and the October issue is available now.

It’s a nice example of what can happen when local businesses, community groups and community projects support each other.

📱 Quick update about our shop phone

We know it hasn’t always been easy to get hold of us by phone.
Our 💳💳 EFTPOS runs through an app on our shop mobile, which made answering calls during the day difficult.

So we’ve bought another phone and separated the two. Our usual shop number is now free for calls again.

If one of our volunteers is free, they’ll answer. If we’re busy serving customers, just leave a voicemail and we’ll get back to you when we can.

You can still text us if you prefer. Our shop number hasn’t changed.

🚂🛤️All aboard for another episode of “Surely we can put this together.”

After our recent workbench adventure, the volunteers found themselves surrounded by Thomas & Friends train pieces. Déjà vu, anyone?

Customers watched and laughed as pieces dropped to the floor and tracks went in some very questionable directions. Eventually, railway construction was halted for a much-needed coffee from the Dunolly Bakery☕️

Then we discovered why things weren’t quite adding up. There were actually two similar train sets, and luckily they’re compatible!

We ran out of counter before we ran out of track, so the whole lot is now neatly packed and ready for its next train conductor. 🚂
