Today was a bittersweet day for the Orana Support Service NDIS team as we said farewell to McKenzie, who is beginning her maternity leave.

We will all miss McKenzie while she is away. She is such a beautiful, caring and dedicated person who always goes above and beyond to support her participants. McKenzie is deeply appreciated by both staff and participants, and her presence will certainly be missed.

We know she will make a wonderful mum, and we cannot wait to meet the newest addition to the Orana Support Service family.

We wish you all the very best, McKenzie. Enjoy this special time, and know that you will be greatly missed

We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful friends at Dubbo Patchwork & Quilters for their continued generosity and support.

These beautiful quilts will be donated to our new project supporting women and children experiencing crisis in Wellington, which will be announced and opened soon.

A Very Special Day for Clayton

We are absolutely thrilled for Clayton!

Today, Jamie, Manager of Sturt House, and Chad, Sturt House, Support Worker, had the privilege of helping Clayton move into a home of his very own for the very first time.

This is such an incredible milestone, and we couldn’t be more excited for Clayton as he begins this new chapter.

Clayton was incredibly thankful for the support Jamie and Chad have provided throughout his journey, and seeing him reach this moment is something very special for our team.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Renay and the wonderful team at Matt Hansen Real Estate for their ongoing support and for helping make outcomes like this possible.

Congratulations, Clayton!
We wish you every happiness in your new home and all the very best for the exciting future ahead.

This is why we do what we do.

At Orana Support Service, we understand that everyone is different, which is why providing our clients and NDIS participants with access to a variety of therapeutic activities and giving them choice and control is so important to us.

This week, participants at our NDIS Hub had the opportunity to choose from a range of activities, including yoga, sand therapy and music therapy.

Different activities can provide different opportunities for relaxation, creativity, self-expression, connection and simply having fun. What works for one person may not work for another, and that’s why choice matters.

We love seeing our participants exploring new experiences, discovering what they enjoy and making their own choices along the way.

Yesterday, our CEO Tina Reynolds attended the Bush Summit in Dubbo, providing a valuable opportunity to connect with leaders and decision-makers and discuss the challenges surrounding homelessness and housing insecurity across our region.

Events like the Bush Summit give Orana Support Service the opportunity to have important one-on-one conversations with people who can influence change. Through these discussions, we can ensure the realities facing our clients, frontline services and regional communities are heard by those in positions of influence.

We will continue to advocate strongly for our region, raising the concerns we see every day and pushing for better outcomes for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

A big thank you to everyone involved in bringing the Bush Summit to Dubbo and providing regional communities with an important opportunity to have their voices heard
