A NIGHT TO REMEMBER: DUBBO COMMUNITY HONOURS THE SENIORS WHO HAVE SHAPED OUR STORY โค๏ธโœจ

Some evenings are about more than a meal โ€” they are about connection, belonging, appreciation, and creating memories that last.

Last Saturday evening, Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre Ltd (Connecting Community Services), in partnership with Disability & Aged Nursing Services (DANS In Home Care), had the privilege of bringing together a wonderful group of Dubbo seniors, including those accompanied by their dedicated carers, for a special community dinner filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, friendship, and heartfelt moments.

The event was created to celebrate and recognise the incredible seniors who have contributed so much to our community through their life experiences, wisdom, dedication, and the many ways they have helped shape the Dubbo we know and love today.

Led by Connecting Community Services CEO Michelle Hawke, the evening highlighted the importance of strong partnerships and the positive impact that can be achieved when community organisations and local businesses come together with a shared purpose.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œOur seniors are the heart and history of our community. They have spent a lifetime contributing, supporting, and strengthening the place we are proud to call home. Creating opportunities like this allows us to celebrate their stories, strengthen connections, and show our appreciation for everything they have given.โ€
โ€” Michelle Hawke, CEO | Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre (Connecting Community Services)

๐ŸŒŸ A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO YOU CAFร‰ DUBBO

This unforgettable evening was made possible through the incredible generosity of You Cafe Dubbo.

The owners and team at You Cafรฉ generously donated the entire dinner experience โ€” including the food, hospitality, and service โ€” as their way of giving back and thanking the local community for its ongoing support.

After closing their cafรฉ at the usual time of 3:00 pm on Saturday, the You Cafรฉ team dedicated their afternoon and evening to preparing and hosting this special celebration for our seniors.

Their kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere where guests could relax, reconnect, share stories, and enjoy the simple joy of being together.

This is the true spirit of community โ€” when local businesses, community organisations, and people come together to create positive experiences and make a lasting difference.

A sincere thank you to the amazing team at You Cafรฉ Dubbo for your generosity and for demonstrating that community support goes far beyond business. Your kindness has created meaningful memories for our seniors, and everyone involved.

Thank you also to DANS In Home Care for your valued partnership and continued dedication to supporting seniors and carers in our community.

Most importantly, to our wonderful Dubbo seniors and carers โ€” thank you for being part of this special evening. Your stories, wisdom, resilience, and contributions continue to enrich our community.

โค๏ธ Together, through kindness, collaboration, and genuine connection, we continue building a stronger, more inclusive, and caring Dubbo.
