Happy Thanksgiving!

Douglas Recreation is feeling thankful to Keith at Gourley’s Outdoors for asking us to run his Annual Bake sale this year as the funds raised will go towards finishing the renovations at the Douglas Outdoor Rink.

Now, we just need some bake goods to offer at this very busy event so we are putting out a call to the local community to dig out their favourite recipes. A few ideas are pies, cupcakes, cookies, squares, muffins, buns, breads, pickles, preserves.
We have 3 dropoff options to get us the delicious goods (see poster) or we can arrange pickup as well.
We know people are busy, so we can even cut, portion and package things if needed.
Thanks in advance for your help with this event.

Douglas Recreation is very grateful to Keith and Gourley’s Outdoors and we are excited to become apart of this amazing event that has become a fall tradition in the Ottawa Valley. All proceeds will be going towards the Douglas Outdoor Rink Rehabilitation Project. Please stay tuned for more details as we will be putting a call out to the community for bake good donations for the sale.

Here is round 1 of the poster. All information is there and we will be adjusting the sponsor list as required.

A couple changes this year, all draws are supported by the Douglas Lions Club.
We have also changed the BBQ/Bakesale a little bit in an attempt to rejuvenate it. It is now a community event being held by The Douglas Recreation Committee in support of the renovations being done to our local rink.

As they say…”Wasn’t that a party!”

Hope everyone had a great time at the 3rd Annual St.Patty’s in July Golf Tournament!

Big thanks for all who attended, the Oaks of Cobden and their staff for their amazing service and great supper, all the volunteers who helped on the course, and our always generous local businesses for supporting the event.

Planning is already underway for the 4th annual in July 2027.

Much thanks
