United Hospital Auxiliaries Dorrigo Branch We meet Bi monthly on the 3rd thursday .. Our next meeting is September 16th held at our MPS Highview sunroom at 1.30pm ..

UHA was first formed in 1933 by Eleanor Mackinnon OBE and in 2021 has 176 branches. Over 5000 dedicated volunteer members across NSW raise funds which are then used to purchase much-needed equipment and items for their facilities. What we do:
Facilities provide 'wish lists' each year to their UHA branch, for things such as medical equipment, patient comfort items, additional training for nursing/m

edical staff, accommodation, as well as items that are used for all general health care needs. Branches fundraise through gift shops, op shops, raffles, on-site kiosks, craft stalls, market days, and many other events throughout the year. All funds raised by a branch are retained by that branch for use by their own community Health Service. Charity Status:
In 1991 UHA became incorporated which protects our organisation as a charity. Our charitable fundraising number (11058) gives all affiliated branches the right to legally raise money for their hospitals and healthcare facilities. Accountability:
Every affiliated UHA branch must remit a yearly financial statement to head office to enable a compilation of money raised statewide. This is a requirement of the Office of Charities and also enables the UHA to assess trophy and certificate awards which are highly regarded. Volunteering:
Volunteering can be very satisfying and rewarding especially with the UHA, because we raise funds to supply our hospitals, health facilities and multi-purpose services with those extra special pieces of equipment that they are unable to purchase due to small budgets.

Yes, yes, YES — today is the DAY!
It’s time for Dorrigo Dahlia Day — a celebration of all things DAHLIA!

After you’ve enjoyed the spectacular blooms and grabbed a sausage sizzle, why not pop over to special Open Garden hosted by one of our beautiful local nurses?

She’s generously opened her garden gates as a fundraiser to support our much-loved Dorrigo Multi Purpose Service (MPS). 💛

The United Hospital Auxiliaries Dorrigo Branch are the wingwomen behind two fantastic events coming up over the next few weeks:
✨ The Rotary Gala Ball 14th Feb
🌸 Dorrigo Dahlia Day 21-22 Feb

They would absolutely love your support—by showing up, having a good time, and backing their incredible work for patient comfort and care for our local hospital, Dorrigo MPS.

💡 Did you know?
• One palliative care bed costs appprox $12,000
• An electric assist shower chair costs approx $15,000
Yes… that’s a lot of milk and sugar, cake, and raffle tickets! ☕🍰🎟️
Yes these 2 items are our goal 🙌

So, if you’re up for a cheeky night out Saturday 14th , then are keen to back it up the following weekend at Dahlia Day 21-22nd we’d love to see you. Come and wander through the stunning dahlia exhibition—you won’t want to miss it. The blooms this year are already looking glorious 🌺
And of course, we’ll be there serving up a delicious morning tea and even turning a snag on the barbie 🌭
So come soak up the dahlia vibe… Dahlia up, peeps!
