Another little gem in our backyard. Hell's Gate roadhouse not only has fuel, it has accommodation, souvenirs, friendly staff, cold drinks, food and the best custard filled vanilla slice you'll ever eat!

Well the cats out of the bag. Dave (Our second officer and secretary) has made one of the 15 finalist of Australia's Kindest Person. We are so proud of him and his support for the Brigade and Community of Doomadgee.

A great day to say thanks to all our Rural Fire volunteers.

Today is Yellow Ribbon Day.

A physical way that people can show support for all Rural Fire Brigades and the volunteers who wear the yellow coat and ride the yellow trucks.

With 1,400 Rural Fire Brigades defending 93% Of Queensland, the 27,000 Rural Fire Brigade volunteers are the frontline of our states community defence.

Not tied to any political claims and not as a fundraiser, the intent of the day is to engender a positive conversation about the volunteers who do it for free to keep us all safe.

Something non fire related today. Doomadgee RFB has some amazing places in our backyard. Today we can show you Boodjamulla National Park or Lawn Hill as it's also known as. It's an amazing place that people should visit once in their lifetime.

Three fire calls over the last two days. The temperatures are up, wind gusts are up and a very dry fuel load. This has made for a challenging few days.

Late last night and today, we attended Bowthorn Station to give them a hand. As of now, a few fires are still burning through inaccessible land. A lot of breaks and some backburns were put in today. Bowthorn will continue to monitor these fires over the next few days. Thanks to the staff of Bowthorn for looking after us.

We attended a structure fire yesterday. Unfortunately the outstation house was destroyed. Our members also protected another outstation house nearby with the help of Saw Civil. They provided a water truck and grader. Thanks to Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Ergon Energy Network for also standing by at the incidents.
