Do You Have a Preston River Valley Story to Share?

It could be a cherished memory, a family tradition, or a piece of local history. We would love you to share it with us.

By contributing to the Preston River Valley story collection, you’ll help create an archive that preserves the voices and experiences of our community. You can be as creative as you like.

Share your story in words — for example, a short story (up to 500 words), a letter to the community, a poem, or an audio recording (up to 2 minutes). You can also share it visually — up to five photos, a short video (up to 2 minutes), or an art or craft project.

Your story might be about growing up here, visiting a relative’s property, working the land, going to school, Caring for Country, your connection to the people and animals who live here, or your love of the local bush. As long as it reflects your experience of the Preston River Valley, it’s up to you.

With your permission, selected stories will be shared at the Heritage Hall Day on April 26 and on our website: www.prestonrivervalley.net.au

Preston Valley Art Trail for 2025.
Several of the PVAT committee members would like to step down and we need some more. We were hoping some more people from the Preston River Valley community may have an interest in helping us out. They would be welcome at our next meeting which is on Wednesday 26th February at 104 Charley Creek Rd. - The Fine Timber Company.
At that meeting we can explain what is involved in being a committee member. The more we have, the lighter the workload.

The Yabberup Community Assoc will host breakfast on Sunday, Jan 26th starting at 8am at Yabberup Hall.

Bacon, eggs, toast, juice, fruit and tea and coffee will be provided with thanks to the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup

The Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup recognises the importance of our community volunteers and provides funding for the Yabberup Community Assoc to provide
a sausage sizzle for kids and a hamburger with salads and bread roll to all attendees.

When: Saturday 7th December at 6.00pm

We are having a sundowner on this Friday night 1st November starting at 5.30pm until 7.30pm. BYO nibbles and drinks.
The hall will be closed for the Judging of our photography competition which will be from 5.30 to 6pm. Our theme this year is ‘ Trees '. This marks the start of the Preston Valley Artisan Trail. Come and see who the winners are, which will be announced at 6pm,
