Enterprize is a replica topsail schooner that offers traditional sailing experiences to the public. This page is monitored by a team of volunteer crew.

Enterprize is a replica of the tall ship that brought the first settlers from Launceston, Tasmania to begin what is now the city of Melbourne in 1835. The 27-metre topsail schooner is the only traditionally-rigged ship in Australian and New Zealand waters and is open to the public for a variety of sails along the coast of Victoria. ☠️🎃 SAIL’OWEEN IS BACK ABOARD ENTERPRIZE! 🎃☠️

This Halloween, trade your haunted house for a haunted tall ship and set sail… if you dare. 👻🏴‍☠️

Join us for a 1.5-hour Halloween sail, with three opportunities to embrace your inner pirate!

🧟 Friday 30 October: 7pm (18+)
🎃 Saturday 31 October: 3:30pm (all ages), 7pm (18+)

Our evening sails are 18+ and BYO grog, so maritime miscreants, feel free to bring your favourite tipple. 🍻

Avast ye, weather! 😭🌧️

We had great plans to sail to Geelong this weekend, but alas the weather has had other ideas. Our next Geelong dates are the 7-8th November and the 5-6th December.

Hello from the Pirate-ship! Today we set sail in very light winds and youth crew taking over the ship. Today our greatest challenges were getting off our anchor without using the engine, this was only slightly achieved. Once we motored to an advantageous spot we gave sailing another go. Throughout the day we had multiple intrigued observers.

Today at around 4pm, me anchored not far from Melbourne city. The sea was glassy and smooth. At night, the city lights glowed vibrantly as the orarge moon came up in the East.

Most of the trainee crew went down to the saloon to have some time to play some games before bed. Most of the trainees went up on deck before going down below deck to bed.

We’re looking foward to an exciting
final day aboard the ship, and seeing our families again. The trainee crew is so grateful for all the new skills and experiences we have gained and the challenges we have overcome throughout this voyage.

Day two was a chaotic day with a lot to learn, but we all had a lot of fun! The day started out washing the anchor of the jiboom, then the rest of the crew lifted the sails, going “full and by” to the great sand. We saw dolphins and a seal swim by the ship, once we arrived at the great sands we tacked back a little further north of Frankston (which is where we started). We hit great winds on a good angle giving us a strong speed of 6.3 knots and a proper heel.

Hey guys, Port watch checking in for night 1! (the best watch). Today we boarded the ship, met our fellow crew mates and watch leaders (Jake the best obvi) We got stuck straight into learning the ropes… haha! Battling some pretty harsh conditions, we learnt how to set sails, how to follow a bearing, and climbed aloft to the top yard and out onto the jib boom! Now anchored off Frankston and awaiting a very delicious smelling dinner, excitement is bullding for the overnight watches and arctic temperatures!
