Ever since the start of this journey it has been about creating a community of people who believe that every dog deserves a chance, and together you've helped us support rescues, raise funds, build a circular economy, and make a difference across Tassie.

So much noise around Op Shop and recycle shops pricing.

But they get it for free : for the needy.
This is where the disconnect happens.

"The needy" is rarely the person at the counter. The opshopper is the customer. The person being helped is somewhere else entirely... in situations many of us never see or even understand.

Op shops aren't all doing the same job.
Some are community exchanges ... cheap goods for people who need them. Some are fundraising engines ... the money raised goes to people in genuine crisis or need.
Food on the table, a safe place to sleep, a path out of addiction to name a few.

Real help, for real people, in hard situations.

Most are somewhere in between.
And most have the same overheads.

So "it's for the needy" can mean a lot of different things depending on which shop door you walked through.

Next time you're in your local op shop / recycle shop, ask them "Who does this op shop help?"

It's a good question. And the person behind the counter will probably love you for asking it. 💛
