Loaves and Fishes Tasmania

Loaves and Fishes Tasmania We are a Statewide not-for-profit organisation, committed to ensuring that every Tasmanian has access to safe, nutritious, and healthy food on a daily basis.

Working towards food resilience and delivering food and hope. Loaves and Fishes Tasmania repurposes donated and surplus food, much of which would otherwise go to waste, as fresh produce, ready-to-eat meals, made-to-order emergency food hampers and school breakfast supplies. Food is distributed free, state-wide through over 300 emergency food relief partners. Loaves and Fishes also provides trainee

ships and work experience opportunities, and offers catering and condiment sales as social enterprises to help fund the relief work.

We've been nominated for a $25,000 MyState Foundation Community Choice Award and your vote could make it happen.

This funding would go directly toward supporting young Tasmanians through our training programs in our kitchens and warehouses, giving them real skills, real confidence, and a real future.

Voting is free and takes less than a minute. Head to mystate.com.au and search for Loaves & Fishes Tasmania. Every vote counts

After careful consideration, we've made the decision to cancel the Kingston swim due to lower-than-expected registrations. It wasn't an easy call, but we believe it's the right one.

What we can tell you is that close to 100 people took the plunge between Bluff Beach and Penguin over the weekend.

Every dollar raised goes toward our mission: more food on the table for more Tasmanians, jobs for young Tasmanians and support for those facing loneliness and vulnerability in our community.

To everyone who registered, donated, or cheered this campaign on from the sidelines, thank you. Your generosity means everything to us, and we're grateful for your understanding.

Our Winter Appeal is still open until June 30. If you'd like to keep the momentum going, every contribution makes a real difference as we work to meet growing demand across Tasmania.

A school lunch passes through a lot of hands before a kid ever picks up a fork.

School Food Matters builds the program and works with schools. Tasmanian Farmers Grow it. We gather, cook and deliver it. School food staff serve it.

Lots of organisations, one plate of food. Every school day, across 60 Tasmanian schools.

Over 20,000 meals a week, across 60 different Tasmanian schools and not one of them happens by accident.

Behind every meal at Loaves & Fishes Tasmania, there's a volunteer.
Someone who chose to give their Monday morning, their Thursday afternoon. Their time during their week to make sure nobody in our community goes without.
From our warehouses to our kitchens, our volunteers show up every single day to sort, prepare, cook, and care. They are the heartbeat of everything we do.
This National Volunteer Week, we're celebrating all of them. πŸ’›

We're not a shop. But we do sell things.
Here's why.

Running a food relief organisation costs money. A lot of it. And we've always believed that the best way to fund our mission isn't to rely solely on donations - it's to build something sustainable.

So we did.

We harvest honey from the Northwest. We press olive oil from the Forth Valley. We cook and pack Campers Pantry meals right here in our Devonport kitchen.

Every product is made by Tasmanians, in Tasmania. And every dollar from every sale goes straight back into getting food to families across Tasmania who don't know where their next meal is coming from.

This is what a fair food system looks like. Not just relief. A model that keeps itself going.

Hoozles Honey. Forth Valley Olive Oil. Campers Pantry.
