Can you believe it
The chain across the entrance to the Silos (southern end) has been

STOLEN.

For years someone has been breaking the yellow plastic chain making us the Devenish silo art committee to spend more money and replace it with a heavy metal chain. This seemed to be working for a few months.

But behold NO they had to remove the whole chain and fittings.

The area has to be restricted by contract with Graincorp to allow the silos to be painted. We cannot permanently block off the are as Vic rail have to have access.

SO PLEASE if you saw or heard anyone/thing doing this, please call out.
It’s not helping DEVENISH.

Well today’s post is another post of thanks and gratitude to friends, family far and wide, Devenish and District communities and our local Devenish Store owners Rhett and Kylie Gray
how thankful the Benalla Anglican Church (thank you Jennifer) and Benalla Homelessness Response Group - BHRG Inc are for everyone’s efforts in providing necessities and comfort to those doing it tough.
Lex and I were able to deliver to the Anglican Church
12 Men’s Backpacks
17 Women’s Backpacks and Bags of Dignity
6 Sleeping Bags
Each of the packs contained a beanie, scarf, gloves, socks, toiletries, sanitary packs, wipes, knitted or crocheted rug, Haircare products, shaving products etc. all of which was donated by caring people wishing to make a difference and thankfully we are surrounded by such people.
Along with this several shower packs were distributed to Azzem who offers a wonderful service to Shepparton Homelessness with the purpose built shower black he installed in Shepparton. Also shower packs to the Baptist Church.
We will be putting together further Share The Dignity bags to be delivered to Bunnings in Yarrawonga where our very own Tim Roadley not only works but helps several charitable organisations along the way, the next lot bags will be delivered in November.
So once again a huge thank you to everyone that rallied around an idea we had to help those doing it tough. Sometimes we sit and think I can’t make much of a difference, but if we are brave enough to share an idea so much can come to fruition. You are all amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you 👏👏👏👏👏❤️

So pleased to share the latest addition to our small community - not a human addition just another service to our wonderful community and the people visiting or travelling through. The Devenish Street Library is fully functional as of this afternoon. Thank you firstly to Lex Holt, who often makes the ideas come to fruition (ie the library and shelf) along with Russell Lowe for the very strong and well designed stand for the library, also to both of you for man handling it into place this afternoon 👏👏👏 thank you to the Hall Committee for supporting the library idea and a place for it to stand and last but not least the book donors that have started the contents of the library for everyone to enjoy.
