We had a lovely morning at Ngunga today for our Women’s Health Week event, bringing everyone together for a morning all about women’s health, wellbeing and connection.

There was plenty happening throughout the morning, with local services coming along to share information, have a yarn and spend time with everyone. The ladies also had the chance to sit down, have their nails painted and enjoy some time together.

It was really good to see everyone yarning, connecting with the different services and taking some time out of their day to focus on their health and wellbeing.

A big thank you to all the services and Ngunga team who joined us and supported today and helped make the morning possible, and to everyone who came along and spent the morning with us.

Father’s Day at Playgroup

We had a great morning at playgroup today celebrating Father’s Day with our dads, little ones and families.

It was a warm morning, so the water play was a big hit with the kids. There was also painting, face painting, plenty of time on the swings and lots of outdoor play.
We fired up the BBQ and had our lunch outside together. It was a nice change from our usual playgroup routine and gave everyone a chance to sit together, have a yarn and enjoy the morning.

It was lovely seeing the dads getting involved, joining in with the kids and spending some special time together. Thank you to all the dads, families and little ones who came along and celebrated with us.
We hope all the dads and father figures in our community have a very Happy Father’s Day this Sunday.

Exciting things are happening at Pandanus Park Playgroup!

A huge thank you to the wonderful Rio Tinto staff who have been working hard to build a new bike track for the children. Their time and generosity are helping us create a fun and safe outdoor space where children can play, learn and build confidence.

The children and families are very excited to see the bike track come to life and we really appreciate Rio Tinto's generous support of our playgroup and community.

We can't wait to see the children riding around the track!

News from the Community Garden:
We've planted our new garden feature up with capsicum (which already has a capsicum ready to pick on it!), a chili plant, and rocket. We've planted rock melon and pumpkin and planted six of the frangipanis along the fence along with an additional four frangipani trees - Fruit Salad, Darwin Sunset, Butter yellow and white. We've planted a lot of seeds which will hopefully germinate soon.

A big thank you to Blake for being our great assistant! We're looking forward to picking a couple of the capsicum that are ripe in the raised bed to use for lunch as part of the Dunyji Jarndu & Ooba Babanil (Strong Women and Children) Project in the Ngunga Back Space.

We've painted the table together too! Perfect for a cuppa and a yarn in the garden area!

If you would like to come along and be part of our Community Garden, please DM Ngunga for more info otherwise come along to Ngunga on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9AM - 12PM.

A huge thank you to the Ngunga admin lead’s!

Our main printer copier and scanner was out for a week and a bit.
The replacement waste toner wasn’t in stock and we had to rely on the technician travelling from Broome to fix it.
This could have meant we were out of action for much longer.
The team contacted the technician who advised us on the solution.
They pulled out the necessary tools and fixed the issue, and we’re back in business now. Girl power👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🙌 thank you Lyndi, Jess and Kirra

News from Ngunga's HIPPY program...

A big thank you to HIPPY Tutor, Janet, for facilitating a fun and engaging science learning experience.

It's always fun exploring how primary colours can be mixed to create secondary colours and exploring concepts like floating and sinking.

HIPPY Tutor, Janet, then supported the home learning by creating an obstacle course using the cups. The children then created their own science experiment!

Getting ready for school!

If you would like to learn more about HIPPY, please email [email protected].
