Derby Home and Community Care Inc. Derby Home and Community Care Inc. provide services to the community of Derby and surrounds under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

CHSP services are "entry level" services that help people to remain safe and independent at home. Services:

The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CSHP) can assist you to stay living in your own home for longer. CHSP services are delivered on a short-term, episodic or ongoing basis, with a strong focus on activities that support independence and social connectedness and taking into account each p

erson’s individual goals, preferences and choices. The CHSP is designed to provide small amounts of support services in a timely manner to frail older people who have difficulty performing activities of daily living without help due to functional limitations. provides the following services to our clients:

*Domestic Assistance
*Transport Services
*Social Support (group and individual)
*Personal Care
*Meals and other Food Services
*Home Maintenance
*Respite Care

The Commonwealth Home Support Program is subsidised by the Australian Government, and we ask our clients to make a small contribution towards their services. You can discuss directly with us the fees involved and how we can help by contacting our Coordinator by phone or email.

There is an evacuation centre open, please note no pets allowed.

Evacuation Centre open - Derby Civic Centre.

An Evacuation Centre has been opened at the Derby Civic Centre, located at 32 Loch Street. The centre is available for anyone who requires a safe place to shelter.

Please note: pets are not permitted. Ensure you bring any required medications, personal essentials, and important items with you.

We’re very disappointed (and honestly, pretty angry) that rocks were thrown at our bus whilst delivering meals on wheels for our old people in town.

We now have a broken window, which means we have a vehicle off the road until it can be repaired, which could impact the services we provide to keep our elders safe and living at home.

It is very lucky that no one was hurt, and our staff and clients are okay. Reckless destruction is not covered in our budget, and it is a shame that money that would be better spent providing services is going towards insurance excess or repairs, all because someone thought it would be “funny” to endanger our clients and staff. Reports to police are in progress.

Derby Home and Community Care Inc. would like to wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas.
Our staff will be taking a well earned break, and the centre will be closed from midday today, reopening Monday 5 January 2026.
Clients are all aware of the closure, and we have made arrangements to ensure they have adequate supplies over the break. Meals on Wheels will be delivered on Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st December.
