After consulting with the District Commissioners and other Group Leaders, I have decided to suspend all Cromer Dee Why Scout Group section meetings for the last weeks of Term 1.
This decision has been taken for the health and welfare of both our youth members and adult members, and the community at large.
In particular the most vulnerable to COVID-19, and also in support of everyone working in our public health system charged with responding to and caring for those impacted by the pandemic.
Our Section Leaders will be looking at using technology for Joeys, Cubs and Scouts to participate in meetings online.
I would also encourage Joeys, Cubs and Scouts to continue doing badge work at home, documenting their activities via photo, video and text to send to the leaders, as well as upload to our page.
Our page is a safe and closed community and only seen by those approved by me to join the Group.
At present it is my intention to re-commence section meetings in Term 2, all being well, and we will contact you during the last week of school holidays to confirm.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Section Leaders if you have any questions or concerns, and likewise myself.
On behalf of all our Leaders, my apologises for the short notice.
I look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 2.
