Deakin priorities - Special General Meeting (SGM)
The Deakin Residents Association Committee has proposed a Special General Meeting (SGM) to explore ways to build a stronger sense of community in Deakin. This gathering would provide an opportunity for residents to meet their neighbours, discuss local challenges, and set priorities for community initiatives.
With the ACT Government facing serious debt, we believe the best way to enhance our suburb’s amenities is through community-driven volunteering.
On 5th March, we held a Zoom meeting to discuss the next steps towards an SGM, but attendance was low. As a result, we are reconsidering whether to proceed.
To help us decide, please share your thoughts to [email protected]:
📌 Are you satisfied with the current state of Deakin?
📌 Would you support and attend an SGM—a social gathering to meet, connect, and discuss key issues?
If we move forward with the SGM, we would propose discussing community priorities based on responses to the survey at the link. Please open the link and complete the survey.
