🥞🌊 𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐈 𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐎 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋! 🌊🥞

This week, the kitchens were firing, the spatulas were flipping, and a pancake tsunami rolled through Dayboro State School! 😄

Dayboro Lions Club, together with the Dayboro District Progress Association Inc. joined forces with Chappy Hannah to serve up mountains of delicious pancakes to hungry students, all in support of Dayboro's School Chaplaincy Program.

🥞🥞🥞 We lost count of how many pancakes were flipped, but we're fairly sure there were enough to keep every student smiling!

💙 So, what does the Chaplaincy Program do?

School chaplains provide a caring presence within the school community. They offer friendship, support and a listening ear to students, families and staff, helping young people navigate the ups and downs of school life. From running extra curriculum activities and wellbeing programs to supporting students through challenging times, chaplains play an important role in fostering connection, resilience and a positive school environment.

🤝 The program relies heavily on community support, and events like the Pancake Breakfast help ensure this valuable service can continue benefiting local students.

A huge thank you to Chappy Hannah, the school staff, volunteers from Dayboro Lions and the Dayboro Progress Association, and of course the students, whose enthusiasm made the morning such a success.

🦁 Nothing brings a community together quite like good food, good company and a shared commitment to supporting our young people.

With guests from our Lions District, Lion Noela Runge and Councillor Ellie Smith, together with Dayboro Lions members, family and friends, we celebrated another successful year of service to our community. 💙💛

Outgoing President Lion Jacqueline shared a wonderful slideshow showcasing highlights from the past year, reflecting on the many projects, achievements and community connections that have made 2025/26 such a rewarding year.
👏 Thank you Lion Jacqueline for your leadership throughout the past 2 years as President.

🌟 A special welcome was extended to our newest member, Lion Katrina, who many locals will recognise from Treasure Tribe. Sponsored by Lion Lorelle, Katrina was officially inducted by Lion Noela. We welcome her into our Lions Pride with open arms and look forward to serving alongside her.

👏 Congratulations also to Lion Lorelle, who has accepted the gauntlet as President for 2026/27. A role she knows well, we look forward to her leadership, guidance and support as we continue our mission of serving others.

🍽️ The evening was held in the cosy atmosphere of Jack's Place, where we were delighted to support Just 4 Kids through their catering fundraiser. Their team of dedicated local volunteers served an amazing selection of delicious dishes... and judging by the empty plates, there certainly weren't any leftovers! 😄

🎟 Congratulations to our evenings lucky draw winners, Katrina, Carolyn and Mark, it may not have been the $6 million lotto you were all hoping for but a close second 😀

🕯️ As we begin another year of service, we also pause to remember those Lions who are no longer with us in person. Their legacy of kindness, generosity and community spirit continues to inspire us and remains present in every project we undertake.

✨ Thank You to Dayboro's Mystical The Chicken Fairy ✨

Every community has its legends, and Dayboro is lucky enough to have its very own Chicken Fairy.

Known for sprinkling kindness throughout our town and finding loving homes for wandering chickens discovered on local walkabouts, the Chicken Fairy has once again worked a little magic.

Dayboro Lions Club recently discovered an incredibly generous gift for our 2027 Dayboro Lions Beer Mile – a stunning collection of handcrafted trophies that perfectly capture the spirit of this iconic Australia Day event. Featuring Australian-themed timber thongs complete with personalised bottle openers, these unique trophies are as memorable as the race itself.

The thought, creativity and generosity behind this gift left us absolutely delighted. We know our 2027 runners will be thrilled to take home such a special piece of Dayboro.

From all of us at Dayboro Lions Club, thank you Chicken Fairy for your continued kindness, your community spirit, and for reminding us that a little magic still exists in Dayboro. 🐔✨

🦁 Last night our Lions members came together for our June meeting – our final meeting of the financial year and the last under our 2025/26 Lions Committee.

❤️ A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing committee for their selfless leadership, dedication and service to our club and community throughout the year.

🖊 There was plenty to discuss, including our Community Family Movie Night, which continues to operate at a loss but remains our gift to Dayboro families. We also reviewed our Free Medical Equipment Hire program, stamp donations, and our Recycle for Sight glasses collection, and the growth of Conversation Club, all of which continue to make a positive difference in our community and beyond.

🙋‍♀️ We also allocated volunteer shifts for a busy calendar of upcoming events, including the Dayboro Show, Samford Show, Christmas in July stalls, and the exciting unearthing of the Dayboro 25-Year Time Capsule.

📅 There are certainly some busy months ahead. We hope our incoming 2026/27 Committee has had their Weet-Bix!

Thank you to all our members and volunteers who continue to make these community projects possible.

There's no better time to plant a tree than today 🦁

🌏 Today is World Environment Day, a reminder that even the smallest actions can help create a greener future.

Lions across Australia are doing their part through projects like the Lions Green Canopy Environment Project, planting trees and creating lasting environmental legacies in communities around the country.

Let's continue working together to protect and enhance the world around us. 🌱💚
