Four members of Just 4 Kids Children’s Charity — Tony, Joanne, Nick and Ellen — had the pleasure of meeting with Terry Campese and his associate Lauren today.

Former Canberra Raiders player Terry Campese founded the Terry Campese Foundation (TCF) in 2012 and is currently looking to partner with a children’s charity in Brisbane.

We are honoured that Just 4 Kids is one of only three charities TCF is currently speaking with and look forward to the opportunities this connection may bring.

Just 4 Kids would sincerely like to thank two Cooroy businesses for their continued support of our charity.
LiveLife Pharmacy recently donated $200, while the Cooroy RSL generously donated $2000.
These funds have been used to purchase two new eskies for our regular Bunnings Sausage Sizzles — with the next one coming up on June 20 — as well as a Starlink Mini system. The Starlink has already been used several times and has made internet access so much easier for our team.

Of the 50 children our Dental Program has assisted, we had only met one of the families — until today.

Judy, Rod and Faye had the privilege of meeting Emily, her mum Jessica, and grandma Madonna today in Laidley, and also facetimed with president Tony.

If you’ve been following us on Facebook, you may remember Emily’s story, which we shared in February. Emily has Batten Disease (CLN6 variant) and, because of this condition, she needs to undergo a general anaesthetic for her regular dental visits. This year’s appointment costs were a little beyond Jess’s reach, so the Just 4 Kids Paediatric Dental Program stepped in to help with a contribution towards the treatment.

Seeing the real difference this program makes in people’s lives — often quietly and behind the scenes — is exactly why it is so important.

June 9 is Batten Disease Awareness Day.
