As-salaam-wa-lai-kum,

We are pleased to send our best wishes for Ramadan. This month is the most important one in the Islamic Calendar. During Ramadan, fasting, prayer, charity, and good deeds are rewarded many times more than at any other time of the year.

This holy month of blessings is here again. We feel lucky to experience the virtues of Ramadan. However, this year is different. Muslims in Australia and worldwide specially in Gaza, face serious hardship and challenges. With Allah's will, we will get through this together. Ramadan is also a time for family, friends, meals, group prayers, and gatherings. Let’s use this opportunity to reflect and pray to Allah to ease the suffering of all people.

Ramadan reminds us to think about our spiritual health, our actions, and how we treat others. We should show kindness to those in need and try to understand their struggles.

We remember the Last Sermon of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the Plains of Arafat, where he spoke about Ramadan. Before every Ramadan, we should read and reflect on his message to prepare ourselves, both mentally and physically, for this sacred month. He (peace be upon him) said:

As-salaam wa alaykum,

At the request of ICNT and ISD, we have received permission to perform our Maghreb prayer on the parliament lawn. Please bring your prayer mats. In case of rain, we can all go to the City Musallah to pray our Maghreb there.

ICNT, ISD, and ISP encourage everyone to attend. While participating in the rituals is a personal choice, our presence on Sunday, 21 Dec at 6:30 PM can send a strong message against violence.

JaZakallahu Khyran

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims. We strongly condemn this horrific act.

Call for information - Aggravated Burglary – Wulagi

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after 2 offenders stole a large quantity of cash during an aggravated robbery in Darwin’s Northern suburbs overnight.

About 11:00pm, two men entered a Wulagi residence through an unlocked door and confronted a 19-year-old male occupant.

One offender allegedly produced a machete and held it to the victim’s throat while the other searched the house for valuables.

Together with the cash, the offenders stole a laptop computer, and the victim’s car keys before fleeing the scene in his Toyota Corolla.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.
Casuarina General Duties officers, members from the Trident and the Dog Operations Unit were called in to assist with locating the stolen vehicle.

A short time later, the vehicle was found abandoned at the Moil shops.

A 19-year-old male was arrested nearby in possession of cash and drugs and investigations are continuing.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, saw suspicious activity in the Wulagi or Moil areas around the time of the offence, or has CCTV or dash-cam footage, to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference number NTP2500111113.

Anonymous reports can also be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppers.com.au.
