The family of a West Papuan woman alleged to have been forcibly taken to Indonesia's capital after appearing in a new documentary film, wants her safely returned home.

Yasinta Moiwend's family says her sudden journey to Jakarta eleven days ago from her home in South Papua's Merauke regency was suspicious, and that they have since lost contact with the 64-year-old.

Mama Yasinta Moiwend was reportedly picked up (kidnapped) by a private jet owned by PT Jhonlin Group owned by Andi Syamsuddin Arsyad alias Haji Isam in Wanam, Merauke and supervised by Ilwayab District Head, Crstin Rumlus with Mandala Commandos on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Mama Yasinta was flown from Merauke straight to Jakarta. Until Friday, May 29, 2026 Mama Yasinta appears on national TV in Jakarta making statements against the the documentary film Pesta Babi being screened widely across Indonesia exposing government corruption and oligarchs behind ecocide and colonialism in Indonesia. Mama Yasinta has been the face and voice of the resistance to the Merauke National Strategic Food Project which is underway clearing 2 Million hectares, which will displace over 50,000 Papauan’s form their ancestral lands.

Th oligarchs and their powers their partners, the Indonesia president are committing human rights abuses to cover up their mega deforestation project of global significance in Meruake exposed in the Pesta Babi documentary. This controversial transfer followed the Dutch departure but bypassed direct independence, leading to a disputed 1969 plebiscite and ongoing, long-standing, and highly contentious debates surrounding West Papuan self-determination.

* The Agreement: The New York Agreement, brokered in August 1962 with U.S. involvement, arranged for the Netherlands to transfer control of West New Guinea to a temporary UN authority before it passed to Indonesia.

* UNTEA Period: The UNTEA administered the territory from October 1, 1962, to April 30, 1963, representing the first time the UN directly managed a territory, aiming to manage the transition.
