Meet Rex, Liam, & Olivia from the Northern Territory! They have traveled over 3000km to join us at Government House in Canberra, some of our furthest participants!

These young adventurers have been been out conquring their fear of heights this morning by abseiling at Camp Cottermouth. Just one of the many offsite activities Scouts are participating in a Governor-General's Camp.

Congratulations to Hunter, Rex, and Ollie. These 3 amazing members of 1st Darwin Scout group (led by Hunter) planned a jungle trek to Malaysia.
Their planned adventure has been recognised by Scouts Australia with a grant of $4,000 AUD being awarded to 1st Darwin by the Dick and Pip Smith Leadership Through Adventure Grant Fund for the purpose of helping to fund this adventure.

This trip will take place during the Term 3 holidays.

2023 has been a fantastic year for 1st Darwin Sea Scouts, where youth got to engage in many new adventures and challenges. None of these exciting activities would have been possible without the kind support of the following:
Scouts NT
City of Darwin
Darwin Trailer Boat Club - for their support with our fundraising.
Darwin Sailing Club - for their support with our sailing lessons.
Bunnings Warehouse - Darwin Branch - for providing us with fundraising opportunities.
Mango Man NT - for their kind donation of $500.
Darwin Ice Skating - for letting us host "winter camps"
Fishing and Outdoor World - for their fundraising donations.
LEARN to DIVE Darwin - for providing our youth with an awesome "Introduction to Scuba" opportunity.
Bayswater Sea Scouts - for supporting few of our youth at the One Camp.

There is also many thanks owed to local MPs for their support of our youth's fundraising efforts for both the group and youth attending the NZ Jamboree.

And sailing for 2023 has officially concluded. Always a great adventure for our Cubs and Scouts with the amazing instructors at Darwin Sailing Club.

Our NZ Jamboree attending youth had a sausage fundraiser at Bunnings today. They raised a whopping $2800 to help fund their adventure.

Scout youth had the amazing opportunity to experience an “introduction to diving” session thanks to the amazing people LEARN to DIVE Darwin. Dive master Todd and his team are incredible! Even the leaders got in on the fun! Any adventurous adults out there keen to experience the fun of scouting?

Few Darwin scout youth (and their awesome leaders) braved the cold last night to earn their Alpine stage 1 badge. Kids got to enjoy ice skating, snow play, and igloo building.
Special thanks to Darwin Ice Skating for letting us stay in their facilities overnight, and to Mad Snake Cafe Darwin and Nightcliff Foreshore Cafe for helping us to collect the milk bottles needed for our igloo!
