Congratulations to Zoë Nelson on presenting Movement and Music as Relationship-Centred Pedagogy Supporting Early Childhood Development at the ECA National Conference in Melbourne.

As one of only three presenters selected for the Music Therapy Flash Presentations, Zoë proudly represented the Northern Territory, sharing insights from ECA's g4gd program and highlighting the role of movement and music in supporting children's development.

We are incredibly proud of Zoë's achievement and the expertise she shared with educators from across Australia. 🎉👏

🌿 Holding the Past, Creating the Future | 2026 ECA National Conference 🌿

What an inspiring few days of learning, reflection and connection at the 2026 ECA National Conference in Melbourne! ✨

Our ECA NT Committee members reflected on some key takeaways:
🌱 Honouring the past, embracing the future – Building on the knowledge and experiences of our profession while welcoming innovation and new possibilities.

💡 Ethics, AI and children's rights – Ensuring emerging technologies are used responsibly, with children's rights and voices at the centre.

📊 Data and storytelling – Olof Gränström highlighted the power of combining data and stories to create meaningful messages.

🌿 Slowing down – Dr Clare Warden reminded us of the importance of slow pedagogy, relationships and being present.

🤝 Inclusion and belonging – Professor Cathrine Neilson-Hewett reinforced that meaningful inclusion requires a whole-system approach and shared responsibility.

❤️ Valuing children, families and educators – Messages from our sector leaders and Thomas Mayo highlighted the importance of culture, connection, listening and recognising the valuable work of educators.

Above all, the conference brought a renewed sense of hope, connection and unity across our sector.

Our committee returns to the NT inspired, encouraged and committed to continuing conversations, collaboration and advocacy that strengthen our early childhood community.
