NT Starfish Swim Group Inc A one-on-one swim group for children with disability, ages from 6 months to 18 years. Individual lessons held at Mimik-ga Centre and Henbury School.

The Starfish Swim Group was formed in 2007 by Donna Rousham to offer parents who have children with disability, aged between 6 months to 18 years, an opportunity to access a learn to swim program. Starfish objectives are for young children with disability to:

· have opportunities for individualised instruction and coaching

· learn to swim at their

own pace and to become confident in the water

· gain a healthy body through exercise in the pool

· have the opportunity to socially interact with others.

· have the opportunity to follow a competency pathway towards participation in other swimming organisation activities

Starfish do not charge families for swimming lessons but they are asked to register their children using the learn to swim or sports vouchers. The Swim Group conducts lessons each week and each session is 30 minutes of one on one instruction with our Austswim accredited instructors. Programs as follows:
Mimik-ga Centre Tiwi
Monday to Friday 1pm to 6pm
Saturday Mums and Bubs (6months to 5 years) 9am to 12
Henbury School Tiwi
Monday and Tuesday 2:30pm to 6 pm

Too beautiful for earth..

Tania and I felt honoured to attend the very emotional, touched by extreme sadness of our little mate's funeral yesterday.

Along with the family members, friends, and workmates, we were there to show our love and support to Tamara and Alan by wrapping our arms around them as they farewelled their darling boy Elijah.

It was a beautiful ceremony with a sea of orange as his favourite colour and Garfield's galore, his favourite toy.

You will be kept in our hearts always and not be forgotten

It is with the heaviest of hearts and deepest regret that I have been requested to post this message for all our ex Starfish families and their kids.

Our sweet young special lad that was very much part of our program, Elijah McLoud, passed away last week.

Our Teacher Tania who worked closely with Elijah, Mum Tamara and family is also feeling heartbroken at this sudden news.

His funeral will be next Monday at 11.00am and if any of our families would like more details please advise and Tania or I will pass on further details

It would be very much appreciated if any of our families who have Tamara's contact details to extend a message of sympathy to them in their most difficult time.

Remember we will always remain part of that Swim family and it would be lovely to reach out with your thoughts and prayers to offer your
support to this grieving family.

Elijah, you will always share a special place in our hearts,🪽❤️😢
