Get moving for youth mental health đź’š

The Push-Up Challenge is back from 3–26 June, and we’d love you to be part of it.

Over 24 days, you’ll receive a different push-up goal each day, with a few rest days along the way.

Not a push-up person? That’s totally okay. You can swap push-ups for other movements like squats, sit-ups, lunges, walking, or any movement that works for your body.

You can take part on your own, or bring your friends, workplace, school, gym or sports club together and create a team. The free app helps you track your progress, follow the daily targets, and keep a bit of friendly competition going with your team leaderboard.

Along the way, you’ll also receive daily mental health facts and wellbeing tips to help start conversations, reduce stigma and raise awareness.

You can also choose to fundraise for headspace and help support better mental health outcomes for young people across Australia or your local headspace Centre.

So amazing to see our local community getting behind The Push-Up Challenge đź’š

A big thank you to Khoda Patel MLA for joining the challenge and choosing to fundraise for headspace Darwin.

Every push-up, every sore arm or muscle, every “why did I sign up for this?” moment helps start important conversations about mental health and supports young people in our community.

We’re so grateful for the support — let’s keep pushing for better mental health together.

During National Reconciliation Week, we’re celebrating connection, culture, and creativity with our Women’s Cultural Connections Group.

At our 6th workshop with Garawa Designs, the group came together to yarn, weave, learn, and strengthen cultural connections through shared stories and creativity. Each woven piece reflects the care, resilience, and connection that grows when community comes together.

The Women's Cultural Connections group is facilitated by our SEWB workers and Aboriginal Community Engagement Worker.

Tomorrow is the start of National Reconciliation Week 2026

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is 'All In', a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

If you would like to get involved and join the celebration. Below are some events you can attend this week:

Lunch time in the CBD with Melanie Mununggurr
Wednesday May 27 from 12pm-1pm
Raintree Park
Knuckey Street end of Smith Street Mall, Darwin City

Liberating Words at NT Writers Festival
Saturday May 30 From 9am - 10am

26/05/2026

Every year on 26 May, National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as The Stolen Generations.

National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation. While this date carries great significance for the Stolen Generations and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it is also commemorated by Australians right around the country.

Today we honour the strength, truth and lived experiences of Stolen Generations survivors and their families.

The Push-Up Challenge is back for 2026, and we’re moving for youth mental health.

From 3–26 June, people across Australia will take on 3,307 push-ups or alternative exercises - one for each life lost to su***de in Australia in 2024.

That number is heavy. So we’re holding it with care, connection and action.

You don’t have to be a push-up person to take part. You can do squats, steps, stretches, lunges, sit-ups, or any movement that works for your body.

Join us, start a team, bring your mates, and register using below links to raise funds for your local headspace Centres.

Big moment for Yarn with YAG 🎙️💚

Our Yarn with YAG crew had a very special guest join them on the podcast, and let’s just say… this one is BIG.

A powerful conversation about showing up, pushing through, community, mental health, ending homelessness and what keeps us going when things get tough.

Any guesses who it might be? 👟💚

Stay tuned. This episode is coming soon.

what a night!!

Our headspace Pizza Party was such a special one — full of pizza, music, games, creativity, karaoke, open mic moments, photo booth laughs, and a few very cool snakes and critters too.

It was so lovely to see young people coming together, having fun, trying something new, and sharing space in such a relaxed and welcoming way. These moments matter. Connection, community and a bit of silliness can go a long way.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the night happen, and to the people and organisations who helped us spread the word by sharing it through your networks and social media channels. We’re so grateful for the support.

And of course, thank you to everyone who came along and brought the good vibes. We loved having you there. đź’š
