Culture, Colour, Community, Food and Energy- probably best describes the BIG Day Out!

We had a fantastic time hosting a stall at Big Day Out in Harmony Mparntwe/Alice Springs. The event was filled with vibrant cultural performances, delicious food, lively music, and opportunities to connect with people from across our diverse community.

With more than 45 meaningful engagements throughout the day, we enjoyed connecting with attendees, having valuable conversations about workplace rights, and sharing information about the support and services available through NTWWC.

Thank you to the Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia (MCSCA) for organising such a wonderful celebration of diversity, inclusion, and community spirit.
Thanks also to Jeswynn Yogaratnam, NT Discrimination Commissioner for sharing a stall on the day and engaging the community about the work of the NTWWC.

We did it! 😊💜We hosted The Women and Work Forum in Alice Springs on 28 May, which was a great success. The day brought together women from across the community for learning, meaningful conversations, and valuable connections. Attendees left feeling more confident in understanding their workplace rights and knowing where to access support if needed.

A heartfelt thank you to our inspiring speakers; Beth Leese, Alison Phillis, Larissa Ellis, Mona Ulak, Tara Townsend, Dr Jane Su-Ming Lai, Lisa Dietrich, Victoria Hernandez Palomino, Devaki Monani, Kay Eade, Anne Hebert, Emily Kilpatrick and Director Nicki Petrou for sharing their expertise and insights, the dedicated NTWWC team for their extensive behind-the-scenes efforts, and the Northern Territory and Federal Governments for funding this important initiative.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Tara from Anglicare for graciously stepping in at the last minute to join our leadership panel and share her experience, insights, and expertise. Her contribution was greatly appreciated and enriched the discussion.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the forum such a positive, empowering, and impactful event.

Across Australia, Working Women’s Centres are raising awareness about the harmful use of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in workplace sexual harassment and discrimination settlements through the campaign.

Pictured at Parliament House, Canberra on Monday: Luke Gosling, OAM, MP with Ali France MP (QLD) supporting the campaign, which is now calling for urgent national law reform to end the misuse of NDAs and ensure women across the country can speak up safely.
