Keep Australia Beautiful Council NT

Keep Australia Beautiful Council NT Environmental Our goal through our activities is to improve the environmental and social outcomes for all communities in the Northern Territory.

Our primary objectives are to promote, support and recognise the efforts of the Territory people and communities through community projects that improve living conditions with particular emphases on litter reduction and waste management in remote communities. KABC NT promotes conservation of natural resources and encourage positive community behaviour and attitude regarding pollution, waste minimi

sation and recycling. We encourage and recognise enterprise and capacity building in Northern Territory communities, through organising regional forums and workshops. In partnership with governments, councils, businesses and communities we encourage the adoption of best practice environmental management. KABC NT has the public profile and network infrastructure needed to provide a resource and referral centre that not only maintains effective communication with regional and remote communities but also provides an information ‘hub’.

Celebrating 40 years with a mural inspired by the vibrant birdlife of their Darwin campus! 🦜Students painted their local cockatoos, galahs, kookaburras & lorikeets to honour nature & wildlife conservation. 🌿

💚 The daily presence of the birds, and other wildlife like the frilled neck lizard and possums, has become part of the school’s identity, shaping its culture and inspiring a sense of responsibility in the children toward protecting the environment and encouraging the wildlife to stay.

Help them soar! 🏆✨

🌿 Working together to keep Wurrumiyanga Beautiful 🌿

Today we’re lucky enough to call the Tiwi Islands our office! 🏝️

We’ve had some fantastic and important conversations with Traditional Owners, Clan groups, and key stakeholders including the Regional Council, Land Council and the local school.

It’s always inspiring to see the whole community coming together with a shared vision to keep their country strong, healthy and beautiful for future generations. 💚

Today we had the pleasure of spending time in the beautiful community of Nganmarriyanga (Palumpa).

The community kicked off the morning with a cleanup, followed by a well-deserved community BBQ. It’s inspiring to see everyone come together to keep their community looking fantastic!

👏 Cleanups will now be happening every second week, and it’s wonderful to see the local school leading the way with litter education for the next generation.

This is what community pride looks like - teamwork, care for country, and education for the future. 💚

🌱 KAB WEEK 2025: AUG 4–10 🌱
Kids: Small but MIGHTY in the Fight Against Litter!

This Keep Australia Beautiful Week, it’s time to empower our youngest environmental champions 💪 It Starts With Us - so let’s put the power in their little hands 💚

From writing letters to council to leading school clean-ups — kids across Australia are proving they’re not just the future, they’re the right now, and age is no barrier!

🧹Join the Challenge and show them how small actions make a big impact!

Here’s how kids can get involved:
• 🏫 Organise a 10-minute schoolyard or park clean-up
• 🎨 Design posters to spread the anti-litter message
• 📝 Write to local councils or MPs about environmental issues
• ♻️ Conduct a waste audit at school or at home
• 📸 Share their efforts online to inspire others

Every bag filled, every piece picked up helps rebuild and restore the places we all cherish.
