Our vision is for Lakeside Drive Community Garden to be a welcoming space where all members of the community come together to share skills, vegies and smiles. Collectively we hope to create a thriving, healthy centre for producing food, knowledge and inspiration based on permaculture ethics, principles and design.

JOIN US at the ECO-FAIR next SATURDAY 22nd, 9-2pm!
There will be lots of vegie seedlings, cold drinks, tea, coffee and cakes for sale as a fundraiser.
We will be set-up in the lovely shade of Jingili Community Gardens. Follow the scarecrows!

The word "paradise" is derived from the Persian word 'pairidaezas' meaning 'walled garden'.
Food gardening is an act of love for yourself and your community, to feed the soul and spark the joy and the beauty in the world.

It's nature's pharmacy for body, mind and spirit.
Dr Norman Swan said: "If we all eat more plants and far less meat, we'd live longer healthier lives, make farming more sustainable, and help to mitigate climate change and resource scarcity leading to conflict".

This is the beautiful little native orchid Dendrobium affine .
Orchids are amazing in that unlike the seed of most other species , their dust like seeds have no inbuilt food store , or protective coating and it is imperative that they land on a suitable host plant or substrate to germinate and survive. Often their survival also relys on their host also harbouring a microbial fungus species .
Next time you see an orchid in the wild , take a moment to marvel at its incredible existence.
