After many months of work, discussions, research and proposal development, we have sadly been informed that the Darwin Waterfront Corporation will not be proceeding with funding support for the next phase of the Coral Garden and Balanced Ecosystem projects at this stage. While the projects were positively received and recognised for their broader potential, the proposed next phase was ultimately not approved for funding within the Waterfront’s current strategic priorities.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported, encouraged and followed the journey so far. The interest, enthusiasm and kindness shown towards these projects has meant a great deal to us.
While we remain incredibly passionate about the potential of these initiatives, sustaining and scaling projects of this nature alongside full-time work is unfortunately very difficult without dedicated support. As a result, both projects are now on hold for the time being.
We remain open to future opportunities, collaborations, alternative locations, and potential funding pathways that may allow these projects to continue and grow in the future.
We also remain very happy to provide presentations, talks or informal information sessions for anyone interested in learning more about the work undertaken, the research, and the marine biodiversity of the Northern Territory.
Thank you again to everyone who believed in the vision and helped bring it this far. We look forward to continuing, with the right support and opportunity, to work towards bringing this vision to life in the future.
