What a privilege to have been invited to speak at the Safer Toowoomba Regional Partnerships (STRP)Interagency Meeting with our Principal Josh Seaniger and Meaghan Rodgers, School Supervisor Qld Dept of Education, yesterday. 🙏

I never need an excuse 😁to speak about the impact our hubs have within each community, but it was fantastic to have the ear of lots of influential people within our community, and people that showed a real interest in what our school/hub do to support our community.🕊️

If you haven’t seen the book the Colour Monster, by Anna Llenas, (available at The Book Tree)do yourself a favour and go read it, even if you don’t have a little one! 🤫
It’s a book about a monster 👿 that can’t sort out his feelings and it is the book we have been reading on Mondays for a couple of weeks.😁

Like to give a big shout out to Caitlin for all her work with our little hubblings.♥️

Cait is working with Anna and Rose our childminders to create a wonderful school readiness program.🥳

Julianna (just beside her) is loving the activities and has become so engaged in the fun activities. Previously we couldn’t keep her with the kids, always wanting to be with mum. 💙💚💙
Now the only time she is coming in to our lessons is when she is wanting to show mum what she has made. What a breakthrough!🥳

It is a free and confidential counselling service and is for all people affected by gambling (gamblers, spouses, parents, friends and employers). ♥️

Gambling is affecting so many people in Australia/community and it is heartbreaking to see the consequences of this addiction. 🥹

So, last week we invited Janita from Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD Ltd to come and visit our participants and make sure people know there is help out there and you don’t have to do this alone.🕊️

How lucky were we to have the amazing Emma Mactaggart from The Lighthouse Toowoomba, join us this morning at our Anglicare Southern Queensland Playgroup. 🥳

Emma came with a purpose 😁 to share her absolute love of reading with children📚♥️📚♥️📚

Emma sat with the mums and the kids and spoke to them about the joy of engaging with your child and a book, even when you can’t read the words on each page.📚

The closeness, the fun, the engagement in a little person sitting close, one on one with the most significant person in their life, their greatest teacher - and a book that is only limited by their imagination. Sounds a little like magic to me ✨

Thank you Emma. We are so grateful for your time and energy and appreciate the support you and Matt are providing us, through the Twinkle Book Club each Monday. 🫶
