Foster Families South West - Friends and Supporters We support foster carers and their families throughout their fostering journey in Western Australia.

Foster Families South West are able to provide registered foster carers;

-Benevolent relief for carers in crisis giving support, advice, and advocacy.
-Opportunities for families to socialise free of judgement.
-Opportunities to build healthy relationships assisting carers with insight and practical ways to normalise the children’s lives. Building children’s skills and ability to access communi

ty.
-Responding to carers who have become isolated due to fostering.
-Access to resources; Foodbank, therapy partners, therapy library, furniture, and other child related equipment.
-Individualised training to meet carers and children’s current needs.
-Promoting connections and relationships within culture being respectful of individual children’s needs.
-Providing families of special needs children additional support in times of crisis.
-Supporting carers mental wellbeing

Foster families South West are holding an information morning on Friday 19th September, 10am – 11.30am. This could be an excellent time for you to find out all the things you’ve wanted to know about being a Foster Carer.

Great to join Nadia Mitsopoulos on ABC Mornings to talk about something very close to my heart.

Today marks the start of Foster and Family Carers Week, a time to recognise the incredible contribution of carers who open their hearts and homes to some of WA’s most vulnerable children and young people.

Having grown up with foster siblings, I know firsthand the difference a safe and loving home can make.
