Connection Arts Space Inc.

is a non-for-profit arts organisation based in the City of Greater Dandenong. We’re run by a diverse group of passionate volunteers that believe in our vision, ‘Art for a better world’. We recognise that art can challenge traditional ways of thinking whilst also allowing for opportunities to connect and collaborate. Through workshops, art exhibitions and events we seek to make the arts accessible,

relevant and sustainable. OUR HISTORY

When our founding member, Mehdi Jaghuri (MJ), moved from Afghanistan to Australia at age 14, art was a tool to gain confidence, connect with others and share his experience of seeking refuge. MJ’s idea - to start a gallery that could provide the community with greater access to art - was made a reality when C.A.S opened in November 2015 with the help of fellow artists and friends: Andrew Duong, Genevieve Townsend, Michelle Clarke, Mo Chamas, Tahlia Megele, Daniel Kerrison, Shariff Muidul and many others. Since our first busy year, the C.A.S team have worked tirelessly to improve our strategic direction and we’re excited to announce our Vision & Missions for 2017

Our NEDA x CAS showcase was a culmination of the work of our participants who engaged with our BIPOC artists. It was amazing to see the works that were created over the past month in April be displayed in our space and celebrated with everyone who came along.

We would like to thank .org.au for collaborating with us on this project. We would also like to thank our volunteers to who helped to install the exhibit and set up the space for such an amazing day.

And a big thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate the work that was created over April. We are honoured to have celebrated this project with you all.
