This is what happens when you give a group of shedders a problem to solve! ๐ฆ๐ ๏ธ
The Lorne and District Men's Shed has been locked in a battle of wits with the town's clever sulphur-crested cockatoos for years. The birds had mastered the art of flipping bin lids and scattering rubbish across the seaside town, defeating every solution thrown at them.
Until now. After years of experimentation, Lorne & District Men's Shed founder Allan Walls and the team have come up with a deceptively simple invention, a bin apron that fits over the lid and stops the cockies from getting enough grip to pry it open. With 500 now being rolled out across Lorne, the early results are promising.
A brilliant example of practical thinking, community spirit and good old shed ingenuity at work. Well done to the shedders at Lorne Men's Shed! ๐
